So my neighbors are complaining about the noise of my 1/5 scale buggy, Not all of them just a few The others gather round and watch. I had one lady threaten to call the cops. I mean its not like I'm out there running at ungodly hours in the morning or even after dark. Its usually around mid afternoon when I run my cars. Geez:mad:


Ps. Theres no track within 50 or 60 miles from here

Imagine you are one of these neighbours. Imagine perhaps you have a newborn baby. Imagine perhaps you're on night-shift ......

I run mine outside my house. I generally never run for more than one hour, never before 11:00 and not after 19:30 (Summer), or 16:30 (Winter).

Always take care of children and others.
If I find there are a few people - children or adults - and are receptive, I'll continue running for 20-30 minutes. If they get a little too curious or adventurous (stupid), I have 'a mechanical fault I have to sort out'.

It's always give and take.
Don't want to wake up to slashed tyres on the 1:1 do you? !!!

I live here in the United States I am always respectful and mindful of my neighbors Im hardly ever running before noon and never run after dark And like you I never run for more than an hour or so at a time. I understand if your kids are napping or its scaring the baby I don't have a problem shutting down and going back inside Just don't be nasty about it. Thats all I'm saying
 
Seen a few lately convert to elecy or buy elecy for second rc just so they can bash without the noise, i know the smell and the sound of a petrol can't be beaten but its an option for street bashing...

A piece of 3x2 with a nail in the end is also good for street bashing...........or have I misunderstood :lol::lol:

You are always better finding a quiet corner of a park or local waste ground for bashing. don't piss on your own doorstep as they say.

Seen a few lately convert to elecy or buy elecy for second rc just so they can bash without the noise, i know the smell and the sound of a petrol can't be beaten but its an option for street bashing...

I actually am trying to find an affordable Brushless 5t I can run without the noise of gas but so far can only find short course and buggies, not even sure they make brushless 5t's. And yeah I love the smell and sound of gas. I have never bought electric only nitro and my 5b.
 
i heard that the smaller the hole on your pipe the quieter,so you could get a cone shaped piece of metal and make a small hole at the end,put some foam at the large part and slide it on the end of your pipe for a quick silencer,but you have to have a tuned pipe,i am not sure,but i don't think a stock hpi muffler will work with its shape and all

I think with the neighbours he has it wouldnt make any difference and they would still complain.

With all us old farts on here how cool will the next generation think we are when they fire up their 5th & we tell them "ITS NOT LOUD ENOUGH"!!!!!
 
Do what I do and If I get a complaint about the wee car I just invite my biker mates round...(I don't have a bike so cant annoy them with mine)
so when half a dozen harley's and big custom bikes turn up revving away...they seem to stop complaining for a few weeks...lol..
All road legal bikes...:w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t:

alos next time they have a chainsaw/hedge trimmer or strimmer on the go complain to them about it...

lol now I have the whole neighborhood behind me everybody loves my cars the 1 or 2 that didn't are gone now:D Don't ask me how I did it Cause I don't even know myself I just know I can run my cars in peace now and the neighbors love to watch'em go:) Except now my buggy is broke. No worries new one on the way and parts to fix this one will be here soon:D
