I was gonna turn my Losi XXL into brushless but after adding everything all up seems like a bad idea.. I did have the losi 5ive but sold it and kicking myself now...

Now, I am looking into getting another 5th scale thinking of getting dbxl DO NOT want HPI sorry not trying to offend anyone but working on them plain out sucks...

Does anyone have any other trucks or buggies to recommend I live in the US.. And it would be used mainly for backyard bashing so I do want 4wd thanks for your time!

Well if HPI is out that pretty much leaves Losi or Redcat. The XB-E looks interesting enough. There's also FG or MSD if you like really expensive.

Thinking about getting the losi dbxl, just don't know if there is anything better besides the losi 5ive... Like I said this is for backyard bashing so snow, rain and smashing!!

Go to DDM and check out FGs,I just bought a new Leopard today, got a good sale price on it. I don't think FGs are that expensive,Baja 535wb is 1100.00 RTR that's close to a HPI baja

The DBXL might disappoint after having owned a 5ive T.....I would consider the roller version of the 5ive T for $500 less and go from there if you have the radio already....

In what ways would I be disappointed? I would hope stock it would be almost as fast if not same..

from what I have been reading FG has problems with the company itself and truck not that reliable. I don't know the truth but sometimes rumors happen for a reason

The Losi buggy was one of my choices , guess im just a bigger fan of FG.I have seen the Losi a hobby shop and it looks to be built well enough, open enough to work on easily, and I talked to a guy that said with a tuned pipe and better air breather you didn't need any more,I think a pipe will run 150 to 200 above cost of buggy.

question is which pipe to get need a silenced pipe, Don't really know who has the most quiet pipe bartolone or jetpro? And about the clutch carrier is that really a needed hop up part to get never noticed any problems with the 5ive t.. Anyways thanks 55mog...And may I ask why you got FG or losi just to be different or have you had them before?

I started years ago with an HPI Baja and had a blast with it but after tearing the diff out of it ,I didn't like how much you had to tear apart to repair it. My next buggy was a FG Marder , used off ebay,it was beat within an inch of its useful life, after spending several hundred dollars rebuilding it ,I realized how easy it was to work on and parts are cheap enough, this is my favorite now and rarely bash anything else.I don't know about which pipe if you buy the Losi, I have found that most any pipe is better than the stock muff. and they tend to be a lot louder but they sound so much better. If I wasn't into FG and had to pick one today I would lean toward the Losi just because of the trouble the FG company is having but I will never give up my FGs
