Friend of mine bought an XCR. He is constantly sheering pins, breaking axels, clutch bells, you name it.
This thing has fallen apart before the first break in tank went through. He has since up graded the clutch housing and bell to one made by Vertigo. No luck there either and is on his second clutch bell and that one broke yesterday as well. This truck is very impressive but he has yet to run a full tank though it before it falls apart. Just wondering if anyone has any idea on what is going on with this? He has also reached out to DDM where he purchased the truck as well as all the parts and was told to take the issue up with Vertigo. I do not think it's a Vertigo problem. Is there something wrong with the geometry of the drive line that is causing added pressure to the parts and causing them to fail? He wants to continue the hobby but if it's is more than the cost of gas every time he uses it he is gonna ditch the hobby. Now I know things break but this is excessive. I'd like to know something to have a little direction. All info will be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean upgrading to OBR. Did you have that problem after upgrade? I see a lot of stuff on blogs and everyone seams very happy with the truck. I don't understand how since these problems make it impossible to drive.

Rcmk very good truck but had limited supply support can only upgrade so much ... upgrading was beginning of problems user induced 34cc too much for drive chain...parts were more exspensive than 5t that's suppose to be the king of rc.. I work and live in Kuwait as a contractor with a hell of a slush fund for my rc hobby became too much waiting on parts to be available ... hit me up got some Free Rcmk parts

I think it has an RCMK 30cc in it. I just can't believe the same parts break over and over without doing anything really at all.

Im new to this site but I have an XCR 1000 myself but Ive had issues but even with that I like the vehicle. My main issues were with the engine and the carburateor. Im new to gas so I was having trouble setting the cvarb properly and theres no manual with these cars so a lot of it for me was guessing. DDM sent me new carb and eng top end rebuiuld kit and it seemed to fix the prob. Nice vehicle thpough when its running.

My pinion gear looks wobbly. Im not sure whats bent, either the clutch bell or the pinion itself. Looking to order new 22T pinion. I f anyone has exeprience with increasinging pjnion please reply.

Thx

I've had about 2 tanks through on my 1200se.

Here's what I've found. The car needs to be taken apart and rebuilt. All the suspension joints we're too stiff. The drive boots were filled with stiff diff oil instead of grease. Few screws weren't locktite. Center diff mount was stripped.

My first run in the dirt I broke the front axle at the wheel. 2nd run my rear suspension arm fell off from loose screw.

While this car may come with upgraded parts, the ARTR makes it not as good as it can be. Also there's no base line spec for diff and suspension oils to even give a good starting point.

The should have made this a kit and could have saved on labor.

I'll hold my reserve, but so far most it have been my fault . Running without checking all the moving parts, and not checking screws.

Engine is a beast though.

I figured as much. Biggest reserve about making the XCR fly 30ft is cost of repair..

My 8th scale can tumble 30ft and I may get a $10 repair bill.

Once I've.played with 8th scale for few months though I've learned to control and learn the limits. Repair cost really dropped.

I figure XCR is same.. once I learn the limits and capabilities of it, my repair occurrences will drop.
