I bought a dbxl and I'm am finding all the parts I'm looking for come from china. Not sure I wanna wait that long for the parts. Also reading reading online the car will not handle a high HP engine without severe wear to the car. Did I make the wrong choice and headed down the wrong road or am I missing something. Any help please..

You can get most parts from DDM or Freeprawn Racing if you're in the U.K.

You can put a G320RC in and the stock drivetrain will be fine, if it worries you then you can swap over to vertigo stuff and some thicker shafts which are both available on the above mentioned sites.

Not a hug issue though.

My buddy has a full race 34cc reed engine. I was gonna buy it but I'm not sure it will handle it. My upgrades are limited from what I am reading and afraid I'm headed down the wrong road..

Upgrades are out there, look for Area RC, Fid Racing, Hot Racing are a few good ones.

There are plenty of upgrades for the DBXL...
  • Vertigo
  • Turtle Racing
  • Jofer RC
  • DGI
  • Losi
  • Area RC
  • FID
  • Full Force RC (FFRC)
  • FLM
  • Hot Racing
  • Team Fast Eddy
That's not even all the manufacturers that make upgrades...

I think the ONLY thing on the DBXL that i haven't seen an upgrade for is the roll cage.

Parts for the Losi MTXL and DBXL-E may also be compatible with the DBXL since they are both based off of the DBXL platform.

Some places to check...
  1. Your local hobby shop
  2. Davesmotors.com
  3. Largescalerc.com
  4. EBay (do a search for losi DBXL)
If you REALLY smash the thing up and want to get it rolling again cheap.

Thanks for all your help guys. Parts are on the way! Settled for a full race mod 32cc from OBR. That should make enough power I think. Its on the way with a turtle racing clutch support.. Thoughts?

Thoughts on a turtle racing snapper clutch? I've got the standard 8k clutch.. I also bought a center diff locker..
