Why is the first couple pull on the pullstart rough and hard ? Im assuming its because there is no lube in the cylinder until you pull a couple times and it draws fuel into the cylinder. Is there damage when the initial pulls feel rough on he piston ring from no lube? Any other ways to avoid rough first starts and possible damage over time to the cylinder or piston from dry starts?

Sounds like your crank bearings are done. How long have you had it. TeLl us the history
The engine is new a little over 1.5 gal though it. It cranks fine i just notice that the first start the pull lever feels hard , after a couple pulls it softens up then its like butter to start after that. Just the first couple pulls of the day are hard to spin the flywheel it seems...what i mean saying the pullstart feels hard is after the engine has fuel through it it pulls smooth and soft, just when he engine is dry meaning first crank in a couple days its a bit tighter when you initially go to start it (the pullstart tension)

Remove the plug and put a couple of drop of 3 in 1 oil in the cylinder and cycle the piston a couple of times. Set stock carb needle settings and go from there. when it starts adjust the idle and warm it up. looking for good smoke keep it on the fat side of a tune. The only adjustment after that is the high needle . Keep it fat to as you break it in. Use 25:1 and I use royal purple 2 stroke oil. Use the good oil to protect your investment
