Which diff. conversion do I get for my shengqi/fhmt? Will my existing internal gears work? Also, is there a special tool I need for re-installing the internal gears?

I think I will also order the coarse pitch pinion and ring gear and also the large alloy motor mount from hobbythek. Hopefully this purchase will eliminate grinding gears.

get the first one just pick the fg one not the carson. also get the shim kit and the tool here http://www.rc-car-online-shop.de/ls...hinterachse.differential--alu_diff_umbau,.htm
your internals should work fine. assuming that yours is the same as the smartech mt. the fg internals have a different spline than the clone ones so don't get those. shipping is going to be crazy just to let u know.

What size layshaft pinion is on yours now? I have a 14 tooth.

Mine is 14t also. The coarse pinion only comes in 12 or 13t I think. I wonder how 13 would compare to 14?

A tiny bit more low-end I'm guessing. Would depend on the size of the diff gear though too.
