I got to get my Mgt back together ,I got it out of its cave today ,I pushed my Baja to the side for now ,it
is too close to X-mas ,it only needs a new carb ,isolator an fuel lines to get it going ,so I know what is wrong with
it!

Life had went kind of crazy on me an had to shove this back into the shed for a while ,however , I did do some
work on it here & there over the couple of years ,installed some new FE bearings ,an custom made a front diff
support for the hinge pin mount ,it is prone to breaks!

Here is how it sits!

I had the last model mgt..?.sledge hammer......huge 8.2cc nitro lump in it

LOL....I blew 2 of those up in this same truck ,I had people tell me that the 8.0 will grenade my tranny!....LOL....I proved
them wrong ,then bought the Hpi 5.9 ,its been a beast for 8 years now ,an it is going back in ,this truck ran when I tore
it down ,I was doing cleaning & maint. on it until I got side tracked with other things ,It only needs new tires an put back
together ,start tomorrow!...

Do you have the new version of the hpi 5.9? I have 2 they both suck. Couldn't hold a tune for more then an hour or so. After I went. Brushless I heard there was a newer engine out that had the bugs worked out of it.

Not had the 5.9...?..i had a force 5.2 in my irc chassis savage?
Heres my s50?..its the only brand new in box rc I've ever had since my tamiya striker in 1987...?
With my losi mini T 3s on its bed?
And with my very 1st brushless 1/8th...the awesome tt mt4-g3?
I beat the poop outa that thing....mostly on 6s and it loved it?...
Gutted i sold it☹...but i still have 2x more g3's here?
Force 3.5 blue head?....5.2 gray head?

I didn't know that there was 2 versions made ,I know that there was 2 different versions made of the Thunder tiger engines ,4.6 & 8.0!

But I think the only changes were ,was only the carb.'s ,they changed from 2 needle carbs to 3 needle ,I cant remember which
one came first ,the 8.0's that I had were the 3 needle ,the 4.6 's that I had were 2 needle .the Thunder tiger or AE. brand .21 & .28 's
2 needle carb. engines were the most reliable & easiest to tune engines ever made!

Now getting back to the Hpi 5.9 ,the engine has a 3 needle composite carb. ,the composite carb is the worst designed carb that
I had ever seen ,they are prone to some serious leakage issues ,on my 5.9 ,I had to rub silicone over the mix meter screw ,or
better known as that 3rd needle ,but the composite carbs has pressed aluminum like parts around that 3rd needle ,which causees
leaks or sucking air.
My 5.9 engine ,the carb wont come off the block ,it is froze on there so tight ,It came that way new ,an I had tried over the years
an different ways of prying it off ,it wont budge ,however ,the engine has always held a tune an ran well for these past 8 to
10 years an never had an issue with it ,I always seal my carbs ,that why that I was trying to get the carb off!

I also have 2 or 3 Ofna hyper 21's ,they had a composite carb ,they had massive air leaks ,so I use the 2 needle solid aluminum
body carbs from my AE .28 engines on them ,problem solved ,I would like to see if one of those carbs might fit on one of my 5.9
engines ,I have 2 an a brand new pist/sleeve in a pkg for a 5.9 ,but ,never had to use the extra engine an piston!

Yeah the s28...and s50 models...basically tbe same rc...all bar engines and a few other bits?...the s28's have fragil center diff/gears box☹ as most replace them with the tuffer s50 ones..?.but now they're like gold rooking horse shite to find ☹
Also gota good ol hyper 7.5 black edition here ?which was a nitro fora year or so until i got the brushless bug and converted it to 6s power?.....proably the best basher buggy ever made imo?
Mine had the better .21 3 port engine in it....?the newer .28 5/8 port mac stars didnt hold there tune as well as the 3 ports?

My trans ,kept messing up ,finally I had enough ,installed the FWO kit ,an figured out why the trans kept frying!

I had been running the trans now for 10 years now with out issues!
I cleaned the fekin grease an the lube out of it ,an never had another issue with it ,so ,LOL....one way bearings DO NOT like it!

Ive been flamed for no lube in my trans ,but hey ,mine still runs great with out it ,so I run a greaseless trans!...

It could be ,or can check an make sure that the head bolt are tight ,I had head bolts that were loose on a few of my
new engines that I would get ,an I got other stuff from name brands like AE. that literely left screws & nuts off!...

I got some stuff done ,not pictured ,got the axle & hub on ,tie rod!
