He offered to give me a credit of the amount of the part ($75). Its a family business so it costs him literally nothing. But I agree, he has lost my business which really sucks as he was not only cheap, but to get anyone else to be able to match that color will be nearly impossible.

As a business owner I would have probably replaced the part. offering the credit is a slightly acceptable offer the problem is that it’s incredibly short sighted based off the amount of business he will lose from you and word of mouth

I agree. I have several people that I basically talk to on a daily basis who will now look elsewhere.
