Well I got board today with the on and off rain we had so, in between showers I slapped together a little experiment and video for a poor mans performance boost from the stock Baja can exhaust. I ended up drilling out a 1" hole where the stock 1/2" pipe would be and installed a 7/8" pipe I had laying around. I also did a before and after on the spark arrestor removal, stock can and 7/8" can. I think my next one I'm going to upgrade it to a 1" pipe and see if it gets even better.:)

Ya, my wife told me things are tight for awhile so, need to come up with something to keep me off ebay and away from bidding on the DDM pipes.:nono:

Well I got to test it out shortly today. 75-80 and sunny and I got as far as getting one run on video when I had a mishap by the patio 6x6 column, you know the one that swooped out and grabbed my front tire as I screamed why didn't I adjust the dang brakes before screwing with the exhaust. You will see on the test run that the tire goes flying off, well that has nothing to do with the Baja itself that was self inflicted by me and temporarily made so I could get the run in.:(
The change to a 1" extension I think is max size. I would stay at 7/8. With it any larger you mine as well take it off. It does get a tad louder and sounds a bit better though.

Thats awesome, thanks for having the "balls" to do the mod.I have a new Zenoah 26 esp motor and have not the extra $$ for a mod exhaust.I thought of doing what you did , as i use to mod my snowmobile exhaust . Great job !
Damn I wish I still had my mig welder.Did you drill out the larger hole ?

Hey there,

I did your mod, works fine. Lots more power, I love it. I used a 120Volt stick welder, it made the can too hot and blew through the thin can walls. Should use a mig or tig, the stick is just to much for that small work. But I got it fixed up and works great, I love the sound of it, too!

hi all just got back in town from my holidays and read this thread bloody hell that's a great mod now BB all you have to do is get all those un wanted cans together and mod them and sell them on and you will have all the money you want :2guns: keep it up mucker nice work
