I just wanted to see if any of you gas guys use a bec when using multiple big servos and lights kill switches winches and all the other stuff we toss on our rigs.I am just wondering if the current draw by all the accessories will cause issues with kill switches and servos?

I get that. I have a kill switch on mine like most of us. I was out bashing a week or two back and like 1/4 the way thru my second tank engine kept dying on me. I was all wtf stumped. It would start and idle just fine...or the throttle or turn the wheel or would die. Nothing was wrong. That was my kill shutting it down on low power. So if it was up to me, I wouldn't worry about it personally. The kill switch should do it for you "in theory"

The bec will really only shine through if you have a higher voltage battery and want to step it down to your voltage. Mostly if your worried about killing the inboard bec of the esc(I know you don't have an esc) but in reality of the gas powered world, your lipo should go for a few tanks before it's dead. So no bec is really needed.

I also have the same problem currently I have a killer lightbar for the Vekta but it is 12v so I am thinking about using some of my 3s lipo's for the Vekta and using the Castle BEC to drop the voltage to 7.5 or something around there for the Rx and servo's.How often do the BEC's go bad and toast other electronics ?

Do you guys find the lights useful? I have the rc4wd led bar, and even a warn winch, but always thought of them as unnecessary bling thats likely to be ripped off. Night driving does sound fun though.?

Cant see much use for lights either ?‍♂️ and i second .......just gonna get ripped off?

Well it all depends on your intended usage. When lipos started a lot of people with 6v servos used becs to limit power to their servos. It provided a clean hi power power source and extended run times, especially for large power hungry servos.
So As time went on ,more hi voltage servos have become the norm.
Thus eliminating alot of use for becs.
We're talking about gas powered vehicles.
Becs are still usefull if you run accessories with a limited voltage to keep from blowing them.So your hv servos can run with low powered items or adapting older vehicle to make use of the lipos. There's still a place for becs.
