I am currently working on a design regarding the modification of my Baja 5bSS to incorporate a reverse gear. Is there anyone who can give me advice on this matter?

If your Baja gets caught in a place that would require reverse to get you out, just bring your wife or kid instead. Have her run out, pick it up and face it the correct direction.

Brice Arnold has done a reverse set up,PM him over at HBF:detective:

hes actually got a pretty full write up on it, he used an electric motor tied into the spur gear that was actuated. ie, it would move into the spur to roll it backwards, and then disengauge to move out of the way.

he said it was a Fun project, but totally not an easy thing to do, had to use a 2nd radio to opperate the engaugement/disengaugement feature as well as Reverse the baja, as well as it added about 8 lbs or so total.

I think going for 2 speed gearbox is more useful than reverse. I hade a Revo and hardly ever used the rivers function even if I needed to (I forgot it exists).
