THE BEST way to de Anodize aluminum!

So I've used a few products for de anodizing, namely Drano and oven cleaner. And so far the best item I've ever used for de Anodizing is this stuff - crystal lye /caustic soda (@dougstar introduced me to it!). You can get it for like 5 bucks off Amazon for a pound of this stuff. Add a tiny bit to some hot water and the anodizing sizzles off within seconds! And doesn't create a nasty black film on it . Be careful obviously, it is dangerous!

Usually I just make sure to buy aluminum parts are either colored the color I want or aren't colored at all. Make like a lot easier. Then I don't have to worry about dangerous chemicals. It is good to know that that works though.

Yeah well, sometimes they ain't got a good color or the ano gets damaged and looks like poop (like in my case) so you wanna remove it ?

I have used a bunch of stuff to de ano parts before but never used caustic soda.

Yes these were orange before, and I de Anodized em and gave em a polish. Didn't put too much effort into it lol. Will get it down to bare aluminum , so you can polish or re Anodize it (gunna try that soon hopefully!)

No I didn't do those on purpose. Wanted atleast a bit of orange on the shocks, aswell as that's way too much work to take those feking things off???

Naw, I drive around the block. A guy my former company did business with for work with lives around the block. His business is anodizing and polishing lol works out well

I see your point ,but to me ,it did not make sense to just do one part an not the other ,there is still a orange part there ,you just as well left
the other part orange!...

Naw it was super feked up ,before I de anodized it
