Ok so 71cc is the way forward with a customer of mine. He's looking for as much torque as possible for his bucks. Any ideas ..

Thanks in advance

Awesome.. but a little pricey for what he has budgeted but if it's the option then so be it. Has anyone tried the goped motors with a cnc clutch adaptor. Just for a cheaper option but high torque.

So many wang tang saw see chow cheap ass motors about where do you start to look lmao ?

Problem is they don't put out power. I planned on doing this myself then I was slapped with reality after I bought an 80cc engine that couldn't handle 12krpm without nuking the topend. There is a reason why RCmax is the only REAL decent engine besides ALX which is more expensive which is that it uses literal motorcycle parts. Unfortunately before they even slap together their home made bottom end they have to pay $450 and they don't even get a crank.

Monster prices see.. there has to be a better way man .. ?
I've got a contact in china which could help out possibly if there not to busy. The question has been raised now . Awaiting a reply. You never no ..

This is sort of something im doing myself because too many engine developers are sitting on their hands with an obvious hole in the market. I'm developing an affordable 50cc reedcase engine however its a few months away from completion. I've been pretty vocal about it in another thread you can check it out a few posts down in this subforum. However I don't forsee it outclassing a 71cc.

Reedcase 50cc hmmm nice . My guy in china won't get back to me till around 4am uk time, but he has got a few things already in action for the small blocks .. talented team of guys just the language barrier is a crap. I'll have a butchers at the thread bud

Must be some real garbage top ends, our 70+ cc saws have limited coils at 13.5k most will run happy w/unlimited coil closer to 15k with no issues. Shame none of this stuff crosses over to rc.

So far nothing. Except rcmax and Alx. There is the rovan 71 cc but it don't make any power an revvs to like 12k rpm ????? and it's piece of poop. You could go the custom route, but expect it to cost alot of money and time. I say tell him to keep saving his pennies and buy a rcmax or Alx. Even the cheapest rcmax (40gt ) will spank any of those cheap china poop 71cc motors and out rev them. Hell thank himself

Good point .. just $$$$$$ all round. I think something could be sorted for half the price off the rcmaxx but finding it is the key. Let my man get back to me from China I think he could come up with something ?????
It's just the waiting time to develop.. in the meantime the customer will have to wait I think ?

Well you can always put the engine on layaway

actually , a few people have took minarellli horizontal scooter crankcases and chopped it up and fitted it to bajas. in fact i used to have pics, it really wouldnt cost too much. just would need some welding and you would need to modify the minarelli crank ends (too long) so fit the baja. then the rest you would just use the minarelli top end kits already out there (plenty of great options that make alot of power) and bearings and such. you would also need to make a custom intake manifold and exhuast but that isnt such a big deal. could probably mod a rcmax pipe to fit. honestly i think that motor could be done for 800 or less. its a bit of a hackjob and doesn't look nearly as nice as an alx or rcmax but it can be done. and the fact that its based off that platform opens up alot of opportunities as that scooter engine has alot of aftermarket support (head kits. bearings. cranks ect) . i can find the pics and help you out if needed as ive done some research on this build, if you decide to go this route

Have you considered maybe there just aren't enough customers for them to offer a lower price? I mean how many 71cc engines are running out the door, prob not many. What can a 71cc do that a 34cc can't? Besides maybe speed runs or fitted to a Raminator. Maybe I'm just not a bigbore guy, seems a waste to me.

way higher top speed is about it, they are speed run engines and thats about it, some may like that , some may not. it isnt for everyone. and 71 alx and rcmax are rtr when you get em , idk what you mean by "how many 71cc engines are running out the door?"
