Ok well I got it working now , logs the temps to an SD card , reads it out on LCD display live , simple layout , Arduino Nano $5 , LCD display I2C type $12 , Sd card board $5 ? , SD card $5 so about $23 or so .

Looking good...but wheres the power graph! :ROFLMAO:
well thats coming, getting metal parts made to run it full bore ( I have plywood mounts right now ! )

BUT I am having an adapter made for THIS to install on any motor to monitor EGT during runs its a spacer like the so called heat sinks , saves to a SD card so it can be compared to the HP #'s vs temps etc.

Buzzkill

Here is best I could find for now. Every file I open so far is corrupted it says. I have the later stuff when I put our engine into it but it had water cooling and I was recording the water temp only because the expander board failed and Eagletree told me they were not doing anymore a few years ago when I asked. The red line is the head temp under the spark plug. I will keep looking and see if I can find something later on that will let me open them.

Ok so I got it working now installed on a Redcat XT 32cc engine , this was on the stand and not really full throttle ( fekkin tires are NOT balanced ! thing was all over the place ) the temps are lower than I expected BUT it was no load low throttle but the data points are fast.

Excellent idea! I would of never thought of that. Where did you get the thermocouple
off of Amazon/Ebay Cheap like $5 for the thermocouple AND board to interface to Arduino or Teensy microComp.

all the parts will go into a box that plugs into your servo rcvr for power and have a display to see it in real time as well as record it to an SD card so you could use it during a race etc. just use velcro or ?? to mount it.

LMFAO did you NOT read the post ?? Used ALL THE TIME in KARTING ! Drag racing ETC.ETC. thanks

OH and whats a " High Temp" ??? measuring temps while HIGH ? LMFAO sorry had too
I drag race a 550HP super charged, methanol hayabusa. I don't tune by egt. Yes I use egt for when something is wrong or to verify I am in the ballpark. Bottom line, I still fine tune by plug reading.

4 strokes arent as finicky as 2 strokes and are a completely different motor , tuning by plug burn is right in a 4 stroke IMO

Than to really mess with you. When we used to build 2 stroke race engines for mini sprints and Honda odysseys. We had a "Dial-A-Jet" we made for them. So you could be on the track and dial in what worked the best. Had to have an EGT on it at same time. Had 10 jets in it and you would rotate it to the next one or down the next one or multiple steps at once. Load it up with what you thought might work and run the track and adjust until you got the best out of it. No stopping and coming off the track to check or rejet. Do it on the fly.

on KArts w could reach the hi carb setting while running and tuned to the EGT , MUCH easier lol !

Was that the same setup. Where you would reach down and block the air intake on the air box and richen it up for the corners?
