Hey everyone,

Has anyone got experiences with Meilke clutches? Not the cheapest but half the weight of a standard one with claims to be much longer lasting.

Ian Oddie will probably know but was hoping someone on here has used one?

TIA,

Milo.

I doubt anyone on my side of the pond here has tried them. We are afraid of complex clutches over here. Though guys have been giving the MOD/MIP clutch a shot and zero complaints from them so far.

Couldn't tell ya, always been hesitant to lay down the money for a complicated setup. I will be going for a MOD clutch sometime this summer though.

Rc car online has about every variant of them listed.
I know that’s where I was going to get it from but I don’t know which one will fit. There are so many versions, at least 4 for the Baja, short or long fit and forward or reverse engagement.

I just need to know weather I need the long or short, I’ll work the rest out myself.

Yeah I watched that. Very German?.

I’m just not sure which will fit. I’m guessing the right one will fit either the TR V2 enclosed bell carrier or the V1 and HPI HD open types.

That’s another thing I need to decide on weather to with open or closed. Pros and cons to each but I think it will depend on the surface I’m running on. Can’t see a problem with the open carrier unless running on sand or dirt. I suppose you will always run the risk of a rouge stone finding a new home and destroying my rig. ?
Best I can tell you'll need the long. Shouldnt matter if you get the converse or normal facing clutch shoes. Just preference I'd assume.

Std style clutch

don't speak german but there is a video at the bottom of the page that is very I formative.
I was guessing that it would be the long one but I’d be super pissed if I was wrong. ?

Only the long ones are listed as for losi/hpi. And I'd run the open bell. No need to keep the dust and heat inside. Although I'd only go that route is buying new. And I'd go with the std style clutch as (I'm assuming) your more a basher then a racer and likely wouldnt benefit from a hard engagement. Besides that what's the need for the drive train shock if your just having fun?

Exactly my thoughts, and because it has an adjustable engagement rpm and you can mess with carbon are aluminium pads I’ll find the sweet spot for my setup. ??

Boom,

RC-DE got back to me and I’ve ordered the clutch with some options and spares. The long version was the right one. I can adjust the engagement point from 8500rpm to 11000rpm very easily. I’ve got carbon and Aluminium shoes to play with as well.

I also got a mad new shock vacuum pump

I'm sure some on here would use it as a cock extender. ?? Thank the gods I don’t need one of those. ??
I think it could be also used to impregnate the IRC bushes with oil for their diffs.

I’m not a patient guy and I trust German engineering most of the time. The reasons why are long and boring to most.

I’ve got nothing to lose other than cash and that can be recouped with time. Fcuk it you only live once unless your nudist or Hindu amd believe in reincarnation.

I just believe in car nation. ??
I meant Buddhist not nudist. FFS auto correct. ??
