Hey! I'm going to order my Baja 5B SS soon and am now in the process of trying to remember everything I'm going to need to start it and keep it running for a while.
For the moment, the list looks like this:

Outerwears Pre-Filter for Air-Filter and Pull-Start
Outerwears Shock Covers
Two-Stroke Oil
Hump Pack Receiver 4500mAh
Kill Switch (I can't find the Pico kits in Europe, only this TGN one, but I think it's the same thing, isn't it?


And that's pretty much it. I still need to chose a proper Throttle Servo, and also a Radio (preferably a 2.4Ghz kit already including a receiver, ON/OFF switch, and a charger for the receiver batteries).

I need your help to chose the missing radio gear and whatever else is recommended to purchase. I'm not looking for anything top of the line for now, so I want a radio and servo with a good price/quality ratio. And would also like you guys to refer to this online UK RCstore for picking the items (http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/)

the only radio you will need is the Futaba 3pm 2.4 gig
this will do anything that you will need or want to do with your SS.
as for the kill switch get a Diemaster kill switch from DDM in USA.
this kill switch runs off the 3rd channel.
the hitec 5955 t/b servo is a good one to get.any other extra parts are strictly up to you and what you want to spend.
the main thing is a good 3 channel radio and a Diemaster kill switch.
lots of people have had runaways and the Diemaster kill switch will eleminate this problem.

I am not going to purchase anything from outside de EU, the only Killswitch I can find is the TGN one I mentioned above.
 
The TGN is a god one. I suggest the Futaba 4PK if you can afford it. The 2.4 radius have the safety fetchers belt in.

The 4PK is really TOO expensive. It's probably going to be either the Sanwa MX3-FHSS 2.4 GHz Tx/Rx which already includes the receiver and switch, or the Futaba 3PM.

What about the Throttle servo? Is the Hitec 5955 t/b dirby suggested a good bet? Or does the HPI SF-4 do the job fine?

Not a fan of the SF-4. 90.25 oz/in torque. SF-4 spec Weak in braking the big 1/5 scale.

The 5955 I think has been changed to the 7955:7955 Spec

You will want to run your electronics on 6V. Make sure all the servos you get allow or say they can be used with 6V. The higher the torque number the better brake pull you will have. With higher torque you give up a slight amount of speed but you will have less a chance of buring it up from the brake stress.

The best brake servos will be metal geared and high torque. The 7955 will give you 250 / 333 oz.in (4.8v/6v). That is a huge difference from the SF-4.

I use a JPR9100t from JR: 9100t spec
But they are 114.00 US.:(

Here is a conversion for you to use for comparing servos:
