I'm considering the redcat MT

how fast stock? Does anyone have a picture next to a revo or savage? I've got a savage now, great basher but I'm tired of nitro, I don't think I've broken a single part on the savage yet

can these be made quiet? I prefer stealth, attract less attention that way

I've seen lots of engine posts, porting and swaps, but what about transmissions, are these setup with 2 speeds stock?

Another worry is part availability in a few years, do these trucks share parts with anything else? That's one nice thing about HPI, my savage is quite a few years old, but shares parts with the current versions

ok, so ill try to help. fg makes a 2 speed, but you wont need it and isnt so popular, tho i want one!! running a stock can will keep it quiet. you wont get that screaming nitro sound.. these things are huge and you will attract alot of attention.as far as tranny optins, your pretty much limited to a few gear ratios as the motors don't move.(you don't want them to move!) is the rampage fast? no.. its really heavy. some motor mods are sugjested like headkits and pipes. but its a diffrent kind of slow. i thought my revo was faster then my 5b, but side by side, my 5b SMOKES the revo. it just seems slower couse there big. but the rampage deffinatly doeasnt have the speed. keep in mind that unlike the nitro where you can run and bash them still stock out of the box, these larger rigs will need some upgrades to make them bullit proof if you plan on jumping it like a savage. its not that they are cheaper, its just that they way 30+ pounds.. throw a little kid on the ground and see if he doesn't cry(oops, thats not right). but in the long run, it is cheaper. motors last 10 times longer, more run time, stock parts are no more expensive then your savvy, no tuning, no temp guns, no glow plugs, no after run maintenance, unless its flooded, it will always start.. and parts, they will alway be available, but don't plan on running to the hobby shop to get what you need. you will get use to mail order.. any other questions? need some links to parts? motors?
this is the best i can do, no more nitro's.. this is the same work bench.
