I’m kicking the tires on doing this upgrade. I just got my two pinions from saga rc for the 57t OEM route, so I guess I bit the bullet and am going with the slipper for now.all i can say is finally got rid of the slipper clutch and with the 650 hobbywing motor what a difference in speed
Slipper clutch is good but it's also finicky lol I was waiting for a direct drive system I upgraded internals to harden gears as the regular ones wound not last without the slipper taking pressure of them but setting the gears up feels like chemistry lolI’m kicking the tires on doing this upgrade. The gear has a insert that locked it onto the shaft this way it won't rotate on its own this makes it a direct drive systemThank you this does help. I was wondering how you secured the gear since you have all that lay shaft real estate.
Thanks for the pics. I missed who makes it?The gear has a insert that locked it onto the shaft this way it won't rotate on its own this makes it a direct drive system
Kraken makes this set. They drop the tooth count in the spur and up it on the pinion. I think it’s 51/25Thanks for the pics. I missed who makes it?
Had more coffee and i get it now seeing the extra threads on the shaft. That gearing seems pretty short/low for an electric. The entire Slipper is eliminated which leaves your pinger, diff and tires acting as the slipper clutch. At least gear mesh is taken out of the equation.Kraken makes this set.
