Trying to fit a circle into another circle. What am I missing?

Working through the Vesla SBK and it’s time to install the slipper clutch assembly. I ordered the 57t metal gear because with my luck I’d zip right through the provided plastic one on the first pass.

There was a bearing that came with the plastic one that I assume goes in the metal one. If this is correct how do I get this bearing into the gear? I’ve used a dead blow hammer already with no luck. What am I missing?

Put the gear in an oven and heat it and the bearing in the freezer to cool it.
Heat is going to open up the size of the bore for the bearing and chillin" the bearing will make it shrink.

Just make sure everything is clean and dry when you go to put it together, you got one shot so work quick but be careful to keep it straight.
