Got my Firehammer engine out for Pico, few questions

Should I clean it or anything else while its out?

Also, motor says its a CY14092B. Is that good, bad, or not important?

The Cy number is the serial Number....what does it say behind the fly wheel?
numbers?.....
If you can read them..should be 2 numbers......Slawhammer
 
Clean that thing up!:) Get yourself some carb cleaner and clean it real good. May also want to install the screen mod on the motor. Make sure to install the silicone mod on the diff.
 
Hey, sorry about the late reply. Had to get some stuff taken care of.

Got the Pico switch in and my original DX3 programmed. This thing is great.

I pull the 3rd channel switch towards me, engine dies. I kill the radio, engine dies. I forgot to try disconnecting the RX batt, but I have no doubt that will work also.

Now to find some time to tune this bad boy for max performance.
 
Good to hear you got the pico kill switch hooked up....you will learn to love that...
you can also use it when you make speed pass for tuning ..hit the kill switch..then look at the spark plug....you want to see light black to light brown in color......Slawhammer

Yeah. I remember what you told me. I'm really hoping it gets a little faster with proper tuning. It shoots out the hole like crazy, but tops out so fast.

What did your radio settings end up being for the 3rd channel to work?

I would say with the DX3 you are using switch A for your kill switch?
I also have a DX3 set to the same settings...for some reason mine does not work...
So that transmitter is used for my nitro truck...........
Oh.. Question..Did you get the steel 19 tooth pinion for the clutch bell yet?

Yup, using Grip Switch A for kill switch. My buggy came with a steel pinion gear so I got lucky.

Also, thanks again for the engine starting tips. It literally takes less than one full pull to get it started.

Slaw, the DX3 was a pain in the arse to get tuned in for the third channel to work. There are a few settings to be made and it will work. With stock settings it will not.:(
 
Hey bigger I hear ya on the settings...for the Dx3..I had the same settings for channel 3
...I new have the Dx3.0...any more problems I will use the Fatuba 3 PM...

I'm starting to fear your right. I have a glitch running one of my older DX3;s again. keeps shutting down sporadically due to drop of reception for a millisecond but enough for the pico to kick out.:curse:
