Killer RC kill switch in Baja 1/5 scale. Light is solid red but car starts, manually kills motor but brakes don't engage.

The killswitch only kills the engine in the event of battery comes unplugged or loss of radio signal. Brakes being applied and or steer turning is programmed through the radio failsafe. That will happen only if loss of signal or radio battery dies.

Thanks. Are there instructions on line how to reprogram the controls to brake?

Futaba T3PM MX
Should have a failsafe setting in the menu bar. You should be able to set how much brakes and also turn the wheels if you choose. Check out your manual or look for videos on how to set it. I consider it a secondary way to protect your rig is out of range or the radio dies.

I'm going to pick up my 5T and DBXL Later on today... do they come with a Kill switch? if not what's a good unit to go with?

Highly recommend Matt Olsen Design......but ask questions, depending on radio .You have to eliminate avc or any other traction control. My experience with spectrum radio and reciever. Install non avc reciever to eliminate issues. Flysky radios have to keep throttle or braking endpoints below 90% .No experience with anything else

Hard to hide all that from the wife. You got to spread out over a couple weeks and burn the boxes 😂
Ha!!!
If i was married i would have to do just that! an old friend and i used to do that with Rifles. after a day at the range we would clean em all and he would take the "New one" to the safe.! we think his wife was never onto to us. Once she learned to count we had to devise another scheme!

I have been through this time and time again. Chainsaws , firearms , RC cars. After 23 years she has now forgotten how to count and just shakes her head. It took a few years of training but it worked.
