Hello - brand new to the forum and desiring a high quality 1/5 scale RC truck or car that is gas powered. I have been really thinking about purchasing the Losi 5IVE-T 2.0 but I see it's discontinued and having trouble finding one (I do see one on eBay). Is the Rovan 360LT a good alternative? Definitely open to suggestions and this will just be a hobby for me - no racing, but I want quality.
 
Just got rovan terminator, 700 bucks delivered to my house. Only 2 months old and been very reliable. Check my thread happy birthday to me and bug infestation in pa. It is 2 wheel drive but that is what makes it so fun for me. Very pleased with the rovan brand. Having owned 2 hpi baja trucks l find rovan as good if not better. Parts dirt cheap too!!!!
 
It's really hard to ignore the Rovan stuff as far as price point goes. Performance of them tends to be good because... and here's where it gets awkward (for some)... they are just copies of other companies work. This has been beat to death 1000x on the internet, so I'm certainly not looking to spark a debate here, but for a new member who might be new to the brands, I feel like it's worth at least noting. Clones are a good deal if you're okay with supporting companies that make clones. If you're not, then Losi, HPI, MCD, etc will have great options... albeit at a higher price point.

The 5ive-T is a nice truck if you can find one. Seems to have solid aftermarket support, so you can likely keep it running long into the future if OEM support ever dries out.

Just my 2-cents...
 
Very well stated. Have a couple 30 degree north parts on my 5t and they are just as good as the losi parts they replaced.
 
Thanks everyone for taking the time to respond - I was a able to find a new Losi and I agree it wasnt easy! I ordered the Losi with the DCX+ controller. Looking forward to a fun new toy (that I didnt tell my wife about)
 
Nice !!!!! Don't forget a kill switch.......highly recommend M.O.D. . Need to use non AVC. Reciever.
 
Thanks - would you guys be able to provide a link for me that shows the correct kill switch and receiver so I don't make a mistake? The truck/controller doesn't come with a receiver or is this an add on?

Which is the BEST Kill switch for the big 3 5th scales? Losi 5T,Rovan,and the DBXL? I think that a must have even before the tuned pipe.
