Nice work getting this engine cleaned up and ported to make decent power.

Just wanted to shed some light on this thread. The reason for the fan cover mounted coil is because the cylinder for these engines is manufactured without coil studs. The head itself is repurposed lawn equipment. (so is the rovan 45cc) You set the coil gap before you put the top end on. Also, the head/case bolt pattern is smaller than a standard 32cc. The "reed" fan cover needs the locating pins chopped off to fit a normal engine.

Hi.
I used a DDM 30mm stuffed crank which I split and used the original rod in.
Piston is an ESP reed piston with port cut outs.
Reeds are carbon, other than a light port and blend , it is standard.
How's the engine getting on do you think you made more power from it. Do think the crank and piston was worth putting in

Engine running fine.
I think a stuffed crankshaft and piston with extra boost port will always help the power .
Hard to say if it is more powerful than standard as I blended the crankcase and ports from day 1.

just wondering how does it pick up when running in the car does it pick up revs quick and what's the end torque like. I've got mine been squeezing it in my car on the engine mounts will have to make some minor external mods the strip down and port fingers crossed looks pretty well built though

Hope she goes hard for you mate, what were the power output figures, you guy's in America should look hard at Australian company roster tail engins, you could get them cheap with the exchange rate of US dollars to Australia dollars
I'm a Aussie, I have a full mod reed 30.5 & boy does she go hard
KUDOS to the RTE (rooster tail engines) mate, Damo will love this. Rooster 30.5 popped 9.5+ on the Dyno at, at the wheels. All hand machining and a family business of many generations. I'm from Sydney and am about to receive my Animal' 32.... the baddest on offer from 'the rooster's. Cost around $1750; delivered and amazing value considering - the most powerful small block in the world and the most comprehensive after sales service one could hope for. Damo is a great bloke and is incredibly responsive and transparent. You can't get that anywhere and definitely not off 'Fleabay:...I have noticed a few popping up in the U S and hope to see plenty more l.

I am in the UK and have never seen one , Could you shove some pictures up please ?
We have to make do with Taylor engines here in the UK ,but that it no hardship , is this another ported up Zenoah , or bespoke cylinder like the Taylor 35 V2?

Hi. Im trying to fit this chinese 32cc reed engine (flmlf 32cc pro) to my baja 5b, but the intake part of the crankcase seems to hit the gas tank. Any experience of someone fitting it to a baja? Thanks

Not fitted mine to a baja yet , put it in the shorty , which has different fuel tank layout .
Fuel tanks are just blow moulded poly, so you could use a heat gun to warm up and deform it out of the way a little.
