Hey Voo, she goes alright mate, bit of a driffter and you like to dice with getting swipped off your feet...lol...

Tune the 813 like any other carb..very small adjustments....You will have to learn how
to use the trigger for the throttle different.....That carb does not like to be bilped...
ya know ..on/off on/off the throttle....Every time you do you sqrit extra fuel in...
cuz of the fuel pump......That carb really helps the low end for any bogging.....Slaw

First time its been out really.i bought a 2.4Ghz heli control with five receivers but only needed the receivers so the radio is going, drifts like fook because the set-up and tyres are crap,,and try controlling a car with a six channel radio! Never drove a 4x4 before apart from my 10th scale but i'll get a better radio and have a bit more practise with four wheel drive AND set the car up properly.
Oh,Slaw that wasn't me blippin' the throttle it was on the first or second tune ,I knocked it out and it started to 'hunt' .I think i'll strip it and buy a carb kit to get it back to factory.
Just noticed as well...... I need to stop eatin' all the pies.....fatty!:yuk:

VooDoo.....No I am saying the 813 carb..no matter what engine..It has the fuel
pump..so don't blip or on/off ..on/off the throttle is all......
the stick control is a good unit..just takes time to learn how too use it......
Lot of racer's over sea's use them.....Slawhammer

Hiya Slaw, i do use a stick on my MT and my Marder but on my Beetle I use a JR wheel version.I have been using the stick radios ever since I started RC models and took me a bit of time to get used to a wheel tranny. The tranny I was using there was one where both the sticks turn up and down an left and right at the same time plus there is no return spring on the left stick (mode 2 I think) and it is also has a ratchet so if you mess up you just cant let go to neutralise the throttle you have to find neutral. By the way I do prefare the stick trannies but that one I was using was a cheap and nasty one (It'll be on Ebay for 99p next week)
I have just borrowed Jackobytes 2.4Gig tranny to see if I can bind his tranny with my receivers, don't know if it'll work as I haven't got a clue about 2.4gig yet (I'll have to do a bit of reading).
when i have time to set the car and radio up properly i will post a few vids.

4wd on-road is the best!! i bet you can gear up and make that rig a screamer! i would stick to the 813 carby if you can. world of a diffrence, but sometimes a little btchy to tune.. and get the hell out da way fuk-tard. damn near fell on your moon pie like 5 times:scared:..lmao(at me) great vid. cant wait to see it all tuned up and ripping rubber

That Scooby looks GOOD!!! What set up do you have there? I have got to admit my MCD had a bit of a head job on it,took the piston windows out by 1.5mm and the ports by roughly 1mm(hand Dremeled). The head is a 29cc with a with a 23 bottom,ceramics,,813 WT,2mm stroker probably 31 ish?? messed around with, just needs a bit of a tune.
J.
Oh,Clive what do you recommend gearing for a good take off and mid.

James,

My set-up is a stock 26cc CY engine, Samba F1 pipe, Oddified ECU, stock clutch with red HPI spring, limited slip diff in the front, rear diff filled with 500K cps oil, blue compound MCD on road tyres.

I normally run a roll bar at the front, with toe in at the rear and toe out at the front and set the ride height as low as possible.

My gearing for the track is 30, 33, 26, 23 and if I use the mini-moto/kart track change to 33, 30, 26, 23, although 33, 30, 25, 24 would be better but I'm waiting for the release of the 24 & 25 gears in steel.

The car was even better on tuesday at the track and all I did was increase the pre-load on the rear shocks.

I would guess that your engine has plenty of low/mid range power/torque so try 33, 30, 25, 24 and if the initial acceleration is poor swap the 24 & 25 gears around.

What clutch/spring are you using? The red HPI spring makes a significant difference on a high traction surface such as tarmac.

I'll try that gearing,I have bought some red HPI springs from Daves a few weeks ago but have yet to put it in.Phoned MMR the other day to see how much it would cost to convert to buggy but he said I may as well buy a new buggy for the price of the conversion so I'll keep a look out on fleebay.
Do you have any vids on your buggy? And what model is it.
Cheers
J.

James, I agree with MMR the cost of converting is not worth it especially when there a plenty of new and used Evo 3s on ebay for peanuts...

I currently have both an Evo 2 and 3, the Evo 3 started out as a Pre Evo (Evo 1) model in 2006 that I converted to Evo 2 spec early in 2008 and finally to Evo 3 spec late last year.

I purchased the Evo 2 in June last year from ebay - it had one famous original owner - Ian Oddie!!!! It only cost £600 and included a Samba pipe, a new pair of tyres/wheels and a good selection of unused spares.

The Evo 2 in action at a race meeting early last year, the red, white and blue one http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=PA5YkVfT8ZA It won the race and all the races that Ian raced it at.

A photo of it in action at a race meeting during the summer last year - I won the race meeting with it!!!!!

Any more videos or pics?

Not just yet buddy. Having a load of trouble with the glitching so I converted to 2.4 and its still the same! So I have mounted the receiver away from the exhaust and tried it like that but its still glitching. The only thing I an put it down to is the battery pack, when you looked at the vid the battery was off my mates and it's a 3300 so it was pretty good.I have just ordered a 4500 so hopefully a new vid with the gravel set-up.
Hmmm.......gravel......hmmmm:rolleyes:
