I am a little bored today and was thinking to myself, why do I love gassers so much.

For me it's:

1. The Smell is awsome..(Reminds me of my childhood vacations to Italy with those Vespa scooter motors)

2. Easy to run: Don't have to fiddle with the H L needles like in the little nitro buggers...

3. Electric just doesn't cut it: Believe me i've tried. I converted a Jato to electric and a 1/8 buggy. They were really really really fast, but after 10-15 minutes that was it, no more batteries. Wait for 45 minutes to charge.. Each battery cost $150 minimum..etc etc etc..

4. The scale looks so realistic: For this i am talking more about the on-roads (F1 or Touring cars).. However, the HPI baja and the trophy trucks could land in this category for realism..

So come on guys what else can you add to the list..

my eyes are getting older and the size still is easy to see...

I like how easy they start, never stall

the sound is a growl, not like a pissed off wasp

and I am involved in a huge demo every year for the scouts at a big camp, and I love the expressions of the kids when they see these big guns out. big plug for the scouts because they are the most well behaved group. the leaders are really good people, and I look forward to it every year.... and we have groups of 20-30 kids moving around to our "stations" every 20 mins all day. they let us babble technical stuff and ask intuitive questions... then we drive and do a demo. I was drag racing a brushless buggy and he had to go 6s to get ahead of me haha. and getting fed home made soup and grilled cheese sammies is also a big plus :D

I am converting a 5th scale to brushless though as well. done one of most every scale so why not. and I gave up on nitro a couple years ago. that season cost me so much money in blown motors and glow plugs it was silly

I really should sell an rc or 2 but can't seem to do it. better add some more shelves soon

I really like the fun factor, and ripping WOT around a corner
with huge roost going everywhere.
4x4 are just plain awesome
Meeting new friends threw the hobby :santa:

I hear that as I am in the same boat. I have 3 pairs of magnifiers on visors around the house and keep one set in my pit box. Now all I have to do is be able to see where I put them. LOL

I really like my gasser but still like my nitros and never had any problem running them. But it is nice not having to tote all the starting stuff around you need to start a nitro.

5th scale brushless is a huge undertaking but is really cool.. Did you see the french company that did the MCD chassis brushless? That motor was producing so much power it was ridiculous. Here is the thread:

Look at his video when he tests the motor

To me electric is like watching a move with the sound turned off. LOL Yes I know how fast they are and instant power and toque but they just do not have a soul if you ask me.

Likes....Noise,sheer size, the way the wheels bob up and down in the wells and the out and out power!

Dislikes.....the way they attract people, crashes:blush: but don't mind getting my hands dirty fixing them and running through dog poop!!!:nono::nono::nono:

My likes:
the noise & speed
the smell - reminds me of my mates motocross bike when we were kids!
I can actually get hold of the part no like to some of the fiddley teeny 10th scale parts
had my marder 8 months & not had any major problems even after some massive rolls & high jump nose dives (talkin 15ft!!)

My dislikes:
I will second the dislike cleaning off the dog sh!t but that is more anger to the dog owners. PICK IT UP LIKE EVERY RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNER SHOULD :2guns:
bodyshells crack too easily after a roll cos of the weight & are pricey to replace
everybody askin "where did you get that mate" & "how fast does it go" & "can I have a go"

Ha ha ha,Dwarfy! You hit the nail on the head there,Thats what I always get "Where did you get it" , "How fast does it go" and the ultimate " how much".
I normally take the piss and say it was a present off Father Christmas,It goes about 12 MPH and it was £37.65 reduced. If you do it with a straight face then they think your a nutter!

Dwarfy and Voo2Doo,
I saw a shirt once for the RC helis that was funny as hell it said:
"You can buy it online"
"Yes it is very expensive"
""Yes it goes very very fast"
AND
"NO you can't drive it, so don't ask"

That last part was fly instead of drive!!
