Hello, finally had a chance to pick up my newly used rampage MT today.

The Plan...
Motor: Lehner 3080-8 (approximately 750KV)..
ESC: Schulze 40.300WK and/or Castle SHV 240
Batteries: 12S 5000mAh 25C PolyQuest (Maybe some 35C Hyperions in the near future)

Here's a comparison shot of the Rampage vs a Revo... The wheels on that thing just makes it look huge. But this sucker is much heavier than a Firehammer or a Baja 5B..

And the conversion begins... it won't be anything super amazing or or precise... I'll do the best I can with a bandsaw, drill press and files.

This is how I would like the motor to sit... This way, I would be able to use stock gearing... I'll have to figure a way on how to mount this motor in this position.. I already have an idea in mind....

I'll keep posting updates of the progress.. I'm hoping to finish this within a week... I just need someone to make me a sleeve.. that's all, I'll see if a buddy a work could do this...

March. 03, 2011

Updated Project for this year...

Will have ~21HP Nominal @ 93% efficiency and 15S, 63V(55.5V) Lipo.

Now I had to cut the sheet to size that I needed, I made it a little bit bigger because you can always cut some off later... Made the mounting holes for the 3080 motor, and made sure everything was centered...

Now I had to make cut down the original sleeves to bolt the aluminum motor mount onto the stock Motor Mount...

The hard part is pretty much done.. All I have to do now is mount the motor and wait for the sleeve to come in... I had to cut the original clutch bell, because the sleeve/collet will all attach the 10mm LMT 3080 Shaft to the cut shaft from the bell shaft... Hard for me to explain.. here's what I did..

All that has to be done is making some extra support for the mount, and wait for the arrival of the Sleeve... Soon as it gets here, this baby will be operable..

Thanks.. I try to do my best with what I have... and try to keep everything as close to stock as possible..

that's not a motor, it's a repainted coke can... so is the sleeve to connect the motor shaft to the piece you cut off the clutchbell?

I am starting my on road conversion shortly

Thanks.. I just signed up for the RedCat forums yesterday..

The sleeve thing is called a coupler.. I just couldn't think of the name... And yes, it will connect the cut off shaft to the Brushless motor shaft...

I can't wait for this thing to be up and running.. It will be a great video for sure.. I just hope the trucks holds up.. May have to upgrade everything...

Charlieboy, you have to see aqwut's Firehammer MT conversion. It's basically an fg. I am using the same setup in my on road conversion. Turnigy Sentilon esc, hv, an hb45 motor 700kv and going to run on 8s. You need a pistix to use this esc on a car, and use mechanical brakes... I am just repeating what the master showed me ;) (head swelling yet? )

where did you get the motor and other electrics? been looking in the uk and can't seem to find them! my lad wants me to do him one now out of my old leopard now he's seen this:)

Thanks, if you want something cheap Use the KB45-700KV setup and 100A 12S hobbywing/Sentilon/Turnigy ESC... and 8S..

If you want something high quality, you could use a Neu 2215 price is about $400 for the motor, but you'll still be able to use the $100 ESC...

That's the best way of doing it.. You're a purist:w00t:

Thank you sir!
