Finished the rear mounts for the motor...

All that's left to be done is figuring a way to mount the batteries, get new steering servo and cutting excess aluminum from the front mounts..

And this is the Coupler thingy...

Had some time today to work on a new steering servo mount, the one that was on there couldn't fit my Hitec 805BB... not that the 805BB is the greatest servo.. I just happen to have 2 of them laying around..

And here's a short video of the truck with motor set to 356KV and 100A ESC.., I still have battery trays to rig up..

Nice video... You're dog doesn't seem to like the tuck..LOL..

What batteries are you running on it? Were you accelerating to the max or it was just easy on the throttle?

LOL, he loves them.... He's been ran over a few times but keeps on going.. Either he really likes it or he's brain damaged from it... hahaha

That was max throttle.. motor is currently and temporarily set for about 50% of the potential speed.. reason I did this was just to test how would a big motor like that work on a $100 ESC... Didn't want to fry it, right now it's just for testing purposes.. until I set the SHV240 or Schulze 40.300WK for it...

Charlieboy, you have to see aqwut's Firehammer MT conversion. It's basically an fg. I am using the same setup in my on road conversion. Turnigy Sentilon esc, hv, an hb45 motor 700kv and going to run on 8s. You need a pistix to use this esc on a car, and use mechanical brakes... I am just repeating what the master showed me ;) (head swelling yet? )

hiu mate no not had a look yet!

:helpsmilie:sorry for being dumb but whats a pistix and 8s??????????? never had anything to do with electric only had nitro's and gassers!!!!

PiStix is an adapter for Air Brushless ESC to be functional on a Pistol Grip Controller....

8S is 8 Lipo cells in Series.. 3.7V * 8 = 29.6 Volts..

The blue delrin is a perfect match too. looking awesome there.

I booked in 3 details jobs today so my brushless experiment is getting closer...

you should copy and paste your duratrax conversion onto this forum. I am sure many would benefit from that write up.

50% that seemed like it could gitty up and go.. i can only imagine at 100%...
Those ESC are pretty high up there in price, although a $100 doesn't seem to be that bad, for my helis i spent something like $80 and they could only take 6S... Either way it's very cool...

I'm going to do a rebuild of the mount I had on there... so I may just do that...

Well I have a video of the truck running for the first Trial.. Area is way too small and my spektrum's range just sucks.. period.. Truck could've been a tad quicker, but I don't want to fry the $100 ESC..

This was the problem at the end... Thank God it wasn't anything else...

looks good there mate, cool mod!

Hey thanks man...

YOu will need steel gears and a aluminum gear plate. And get a Futaba before you wreck it.

I want to get a Futaba... It's my Spektrum Module that's messed up, other than that it works fine... I am just unable to send it yet.. I will get the aluminum plate for sure.. I want to get the Steel transfer gears... I kinda like plastic on metal.. nice and quiet...

This is how I will be mounting the batteries.. battery mound and tray...

I used up all the stock holes... Did not modify the chassis in any way...

I updated the battery tray...

Here's a Video, it's a little DARK.. will get a day video tomorrow...
5 minutes of runtime in the front yard, and 7 minutes of runtime in the backyard..
Lipo took about 2150mAh charge... so I should get about 20 minutes with this gearing... 27/33.. and 12S1P 5000mAh...

After the run the motor was 34 Deg Celcius and the ESC was 39 Deg Celcius...

I've seen the yard in daylight vids. I am amazed you didn't hit any of the kids playground stuff haha

I will have some daylight videos to share today, hopefully I can make it out to Kingsville Raceway 5th scale track today...
