Hi,

Does anyone know how fast a stock 23cc engine in a Shengqi Hummer will go? and if a jetpro pipe is put on how much faster will it go?

Would it be better to remove this engine and replace it with a 26cc or 30cc?

I have a Duratrax Firehammer MT. The 23cc that came with it wasn't a CY or a Zenoah but had pretty good power. I slapped a Dominator on it and it gave it a good 10mph faster speed. I have the DOM speed pipe and the Domr torque pipe. I prefer the torque pipe for lowend speed. Jetpro makes great pipes so you can't go wrong with them. Stick with the engine you have until it dies and just upgrade it with a pipe. Do you know what brand of engine comes with the Shengqi? Also put this clutch spring on your clutch:

Hey CSP1971,

I'm not 100% sure what make of engine is in my Shengqi Hummer but it's only 3 months old. So whatever come out in the Shengqi is what's in it.

The clutch springs you suggested, have you used these and do they make a huge difference to the take and revs the truck will put out?

The springs help a bit, not a HUGE difference, but you'll see some more off the line power.

I'm thinking it is like the engine that came with my Duratrax. You won't be able to upgrade it because 1) 3 bolt head 2) the crankcase and the clutch housing are 1 piece. Additionally on the thing that was in my DTX: couldn't pull the flywheel easily, clutch wouldn't fit a CY/Zen, pullstart housing was different than the CY/Zen, fan cover different size.
 
hey monstertruckmad, csp1971 is right get the torque dom & the 8000 rpm spring...you will see a big difference in performance...you can always put that pipe & spring on any engine you want to upgrade with later...
 
Cheers. As I only bought the Shengqi Hummer for $100AU I can afford to spend a little on it. I have the pipe and now will buy the clutch spring.
I have a HPI Baja 5T that I use all the time but the Shengqi is a going to be a project.
 
Spring is ordered :) I will post a before and after once I get the clutch spring and put the Jetpro pipe on.
