ya not really comparable i guess. 4wd verse 2wd. the quality of your hpi is slightly better, but that didnt stop me from ditching my hpi's for a redcat. i liked them so much i now have 3 ramps. the 4wd is a blast and i don't have any quality issues with any of mine. its best to try and sell your hpi and get a new ramp.

lol baja 5b ss is built like a tank and can be upgraded. *also parts can be found everywere!!!" lol rampages have an Achilles heal known as the diff :p if you got the money ss ftw

Rampage TT all the way. Baja can't corner like a 4x4. Dune Runner 4x4! HPI does have alot of after market but give red cat a chance they're come up.

I sold both my Baja's since I got my Rampage. Now I'm selling my Rampage for funding my my 2nd Rampage project.

Baja's are... OK. I'm being somewhat humble about it. I hate Bajas with a passion since I've owned two of them. I put everything you could possibly put into one of my Bajas and I would still eat TR diff cups and DS bones like crazy. RPM arms still broke and aluminum ones still bent. Even with a WSE rear engine brace and Phatdad engine braces I would still crack crankcases and billet fan shrouds on a regular basis. Try breaking a DS billet crankcase from a cartwheel and still kiss your Baja good night :). I celebrated with an 18 pack when I sold my last Baja. They are money pits from hell.

The Rampage diff issues have been solved with tempering. The only weakness I've found past that the steel gears wobbling. Still, even with that, I don't have to replace them often and they are really cheap. I havn't ordered parts in a looong time other than a new engine and some wheels. Nothing has broken in quite a while.

Here's mine. Or actually it's somebody else's now since I sold it yesterday.

Agree with you about Baja's mate, money pits....
Bad build quality too with loads of play every where?
I was used to FG, Elcon, and Lauterbacher then got a HPI and thought what the he'll is all this play around the hubs and steering? Cost so much to sort it and I keept braking something when I went out so sold it and went back to a fully comp onroad car.

Brad.
