Hi guys

As some of you know i have just got into this large scale fun and just picked up my box full of bits.
There will be LOADS of question im sure but the first is.....should i make the bits into a Marder or Beetle ??

A few pics of the bits that fit together easy......let me know what you think.

And the shell just sat on the top.......there are no supports for any shell so will need to find some before i can fit any.

Give it your worst guys........sure it can only get better from here on in :)

And its power plant........not sure what size it is or even if it runs yet.......came with a few extra bits too.

aaaaaarrrrrrrr you're the one that won this :clown: i was watchin this one :clown: imo i'd go with the mardar option mate sort of fell out with the beetle shape now, i was toyin with the idea of moddin my leopard to fit one but decided to stay with the leo shell instead :cool2::cool2:

I would fancy the beetle. There is an undertray for the beetle that wraps around & stops a most of the shite collecting on the chassis that would be worth it if its not amongst your bits. Before you fit the engine there are a few cheap mods you can do to stop it filling with grass etc & it saves spending on an outerwear cover. Not sure where the thread is but someone will direct you to it. I would also get a new set of engine mounts for piece of mind (less than £10). Is there an engine name & cc on side of pull start cover eg zenoah or CY??

Marder. Beetle are on the same platform. Monster beetle Pro is on the MT platform-MB Pro and MT have dual shocks o n all 4 corners.

Hey, quick question, in the picture of the cylinders, what are those 2 aluminum looking things coming off the clutch side of the cylinder? Between them is the # 2070? I Have had a MB Pro for over 3 years and been in Large scale for a long time, I have never seen a cylinder that looked like that.

go the beetle. They look cool and almost always lands back on their wheels thanks to the curved roof.

ive got a FG MT with beetle body, only rolled it once so far but it landed on its wheel, to me thats 100% back on wheels rollover ratio :clown:

There is no undertray in my bits and im not 100% sure of the shell as there are no mounts for any so its an open book so to speak.
The sticker on the pullstart housing is missing .....is there any other ways to check what the engine is ?...don't mind striping it down to measure crank stroke and piston size etc.

you have the monster beetle body so just get some mounts. the under tray won't work with that body and you'd need other tires. just get the mounts and you will be playing. then decide later if you wnt to change. might as well destroy this body first haha

I guess you'll need the mt side guards but wtch ebay they show up

Sort of........i dealt with him off ebay.....i bought a few extra bits (wheels/shell etc) so i have the option to sell a few bits to buy the rest which ever way i go.

Think thats what i will do first.....as per the above post.....is a rollover bar needed ?

you could get away without one, but there is an additional mount can add on the roof. you'll need the roll bar if you want to add a wing though. I picked up a complete rollcage for 5gpb on ebay.uk

the mt side guards you put body mounts, that's what the holes in body are for on the side. then just need a front body mount off the tower. I have the marder beetle myself with the undertray and buggy tires. cool it seals the chassis from gunk but a pain to work on without removing everything. I have seen some guys on here put plastic behind the mt guards to keep the chassis clean
