Quick question for ya guys, I got a little extra cash and am going to get another 5th scale but I'm torn between a FG or MCD. Never mind the differences between 2wd and 4wd just the cars in general, would love to hear some different opinions on which one you guys think. Before I forget to mention I have owned both models before so am familiar with them just torn on which to get. Thanks

You say you own or have owned both?
I say ask yourself the same question?
Which has given you most fun?
Which has given you most grief?
Personally, I've no experience with MCD, other than reading about them. Write ups are generally very good.
Toss a coin!!

I would say FG's are probably better value for money for bashing but it depends what you wanna do with it!

at the moment MCD's are great value as there is the new V4 coming

out in feb soooooooooo the old models have been heavily discounted

but the best of the bunch must be the race runner comp at £795

with an engine ....if still not sure buy both:clown::clown:

i picked up an ultimate baja 1000 yesterday

Hmmmmmmmmm it depends what you want your new 5th scale for really

FG (2wd) are cheaper to buy and parts are very reasonable and always avalible, the new 4wd are more than the evo3 MCD RR at the moment as trebor explained above these are being sold off at bargain price thanks to the evo4.

A mate of mine has the RR and it's fantastic to drive but i feel it lacks a little of the fun factor as it's main purpose is for racing and im a basher at heart.

I don't know if you would be interested but have you thought about the FS racing truck ?? its a clone of the MCD truck and another mate of mine has one and i must say its a very very impressive bit of kit and half the price of an MCD - it has fantastic build quality and takes alot of punishment, also most of the MCD parts/upgrades fit too.

Or what about the new kid on the block the Nutech/FTX ?? these have being getting some rave reviews and are certainly worth a consideration.

Oooooops think maybe i just made your decision harder  :clown:

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I think I'm leanig towards the MCD line, to be more precise I'm shooting for the rally car and possibly getting the gravel kit also. I've been wanting a rally for almost a year now so I think I might go that way seeings how most of my driving is on pavement anyway, not to mention those cars look dead sexy. I've always been a big fan of the MCD line and I especially like how easy they are to work on.

I think you have to ask one more question...which one is easiest to get parts for?
I the US it is a real pain to get parts for the FG.
In the past I have been down waiting for parts.
As an example back in November I waited for a month while being told it should be here in the next order.
They my get orders in from FG every two weeks.
I finally ended up ordering it for a distributor in Europe
I will NEVER own another FG because of that.
Simply BS that parts are so hard to get and yes I am very familiar with FG Supply. Angel and I have had many conversations.
May be a different story depending on where you are located.

All three are great cars and are fun to drive.

Basically thats what made my mind up was part availabilty, I'm a big fan of FG products but I'm concerned if I would be able to get parts, I know that there are couple of good dealers in the U.S. but they don't always have everything in stock. Don't get me wrong I would someday like to have another FG but I just chose to go with another MCD for now.

good to know youve made your choice but I just thought I might add my 2 cents in anyway.

If your out to have fun at a bmx track or park I think you will get allot more enjoyment out of a FG but if your into precision handling and doing quick lap times the MCD is prolly better suited.

I hear what your saying and appreciate advise, acutally one of my buddies over the weekend asked me the same question.

There is no place around here to race 5th scale so your left to running in parking lots or parks, so the car would be used for strictly fun. I have owned a couple of FG monsters(truck and beetle pro) and I enjoyed them the most because of the kind of driving style they provide, you know, that on the edge of your seat driving, where you don't know what the trucks gonna do like pop a wheelie or what ever...and not to mention I am a total beetle freak so the beetle body is totally for me. I just worry about parts being readily available so that whats kinda got me nervous about buying a FG. I know, I'm weird but I acutally think about stuff like that.

your wise to think about where to get your parts from:)

as for me that was one reason i went with FG as i live 20mins drive

from the importers of FG into england :clown:

not as though i need many spares:blush::blush::blush:
