brand spanking new ,just finished charging batts and it wont start.i used a different charger than the one that comes with rtr package.i didnt know it but the charger was missing from the box.im missing charger and english manual.i should've checked before i left store,i thought its brand new its got everything.anyways stores closed today{on a wedsneday, crazy}guess they took stuff out of box. so im wondering if the charge was wrong cause the servos are making a very weird buzzing humming noice that changes fro low pitch to a high pitch, they seem to be controlling steering and throttle perfectly.could the battery be not supplying enough power to start?i charged it like my tmaxx but a different charger setting. i followed startup procedure perfectly from video in box.it wont even begin to fire up.please help!!!!!u guys gave me great advice and need help. thanks, rob from great white north!

anybody know fg headquarters phone number??or canadian headquarters?? just dawned on me that when i bought fg mt yesterday from a licensed fg dealer.he told me to mix my oil ,quote " half of the lid of oil to five litres of 94 super gas".i watched the video and they said 125 ml to 5 litres of gas.big, big reallybig difference.i measured what half a lid was,10 ml.i think what happened was he was telling me the wrong mix on purpose because it makes sense.there was pieces missing from already open box he brought from downstairs.probably what happened was some prior person wrecked the motor or something and they tried to resell it to a poor smuck like me.he told me the charger doesn't come with package.i got home and read the side of the radio box and it said charger was actually included.even the video says it comes in rtr package.thats why pieces were missing.no english manual ,stickers, etc.i cant even get my $1,800 brand spanking new fg started, not even once.my servos make a weird humming noice.i really need to talk to a fg rep or something.i know hes gonna say no warrenty cause i used wrong mix,we'll hes wrong i went by what the vid said,125 ml oil to 5 ltr gas.watched vid before i even started.followed it perfect.im so mad, they're freaking closed today.a freakin wednesday.so if anybodys got a link or number for fg modellsport i would appreciate it. thanks

I think it's one of those 'sleep on it and think about what has and hasn't happened'. Are you sure you primed it enough?
Are you sure you didn't flood it?
Check the plug to see if it's 'wet'.

If the battery's charged or not, it should start - not necessary to start the engine, only to operate the servos.
Check the charge with a voltmeter anyway, to get an idea of how long you should leave it charging - I go by warmth, then measure the voltage.

I've no experience from brand new, so over to the other guys.

hey mate, whats the latestest? I got a FG MT brand new, it was a little hard to start from new until I nutted out the choke.

Take it someplace indoors not dusty and not windy. Take off the air cleaner and note the choke lever position when open and closed.

Prime the lines, make sure you see fuel going through it. Close choke fully, give it a few pulls, once it pops turn choke off fully and pull it should start within a few.

If not try opening the throttle slight and pull at same time, this worked for me straight out of the box.

Other things that might help, check the spark plug, if wet may be flooded, turn upside down, pull 10-15 times, and re do the above instrcutions.

Also check your needles, make sure they are set to factory.

If this doesn't work let us know and we can continue

still no go

took out plug and was wet, turn upside down pulled 15 times and set needles to fact settings, tried again and still nothing.tried little throttle and pulled.nothing, got spark definatley.i don't know.what would happen if someone ran straight gas through it?woulod it fry it?just seems weird hobby guy tells me to mix 10 ml oil to 5 ltr gas.i know its 125ml to 5 ltr.this guys been selling these cars for years,he definatly knows thats wrong.half a cap full, thats 10 ml..anything else i could try before i send him to the next world! thanks again 4 your help

Change your mixture to 25:1. http://www.repairspot.com/two_stroke_fuel_mixture_ratio.htm

Remove the plug and check to see if the plug is wet. If so, do as above and flip it upside down and pull 15 times until the fuel in the bottom of the motor is dried a bit. Blow off the spark plug dry and reinstall.

Drain the fuel from the lines and the bulb. Refill the fuel tank with the correct mix.
Now push the primer until you see it fill, and push once more. You will see a bit of fuel go into the return line and back to the tank.
Turn your electronics on.
Turn the choke lever (RED) on the side of the carb to the on or down position.
Pull the motor over until it pops and stalls.
Return the choke lever to the open position.
Pull over a couple more times until it starts.

The buzz may be the buzzing of the digital servos not being completely centered and needing the endpoints adjusted. What brand/model servos are in the model.

hitec hs 645mg,how do i adjust the endpoints?gonna drain lines and bulb then try from scratch, anybody make reverse kits for fg?

Endpoints all depend on the type of radio system it came with. check by moving the trim of the servo one way or another to take off any stress the servo has when at idle. You can check if its a endpoint or trim issue by removing the servo horn and the sound should disappear.

No reverse kits. Yet...

servos got better

worked perfect, thanks 4 the knowledge.now to get it runnin',draining lines and bulb, refueling 2 pulls choke in down position then pull in up position. i just wanna say the people on this site are GREAT.helpin' newbies like me must be a pain in the a**, thanks guys

we all love the large scalers and are prolly just as excited about you getting it running!

is the motor popping with choke fully on? if not try and open the throttle a bit with the choke fully on, sometimes that helps me.

my servo's also buzz, its a digital servo thing.

forgot to mention before if your mixing you want it 25:1 so if your mixing with 5L of fuel use 200ml of good quality 2 stroke oil. I run motul 800 factory line but there are plenty of good brands out there. it just needs to be able to handle the high rpm these things can do.

so the important question is..............is it running yet?

got it runnin!

i wish i could reach accross this rock and thank you guys personally with a beer or two,i was so stressed i couldnt start it.if if wasnt for good advice i probably would've snapped.ya so its runnin mint,i feel like such a dumb ass!im gonna break it in tomorrow! i freakin love you guys.like my mom always said the best things in life are free, well except for my fg!THANKS AGAIN FOR FREE THE ADVICE. BEST FORUM EVER!!!!

Wait!!

great to hear that u got it running...follow the mix mentioned on the video if u have one..go back to the hs and curse him out.hehehe

Here is one of the easiest charts to use:
(Best oil mix chart click here)

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q__kW1B6Haw"](FG Video click here)[/ame]

If you are talking about the above Fg video STOP!! Check the chart. They are calling out 40:1...

Keep with 25:1...;)

Stupid question? !!
Why are you making 5 litres of fuel?
Are you planning on racing it?
Most people will BUY 5 litres of petrol, but only mix ONE LITRE at a time.
Look on Fleabay - there are often 2-stroke mixing bottles - all of the marking are there - you measure nothing, simply add to the line, screw the lid on tightly then shake, and shake, and shake ... then relieve any vapour pressure carefully.
1 litre ready to use - this will do for up to 2 hours' running!!

so what was it in the end?

as the others have said make sure your oil/fuel ratio is correct, if you think its wrong throw out what you got and start again.

remember 5L of fuel = 200ml of 2 stroke oil. don't use cheap oil, they cant handle the high RPM.

keep us posted, get some pics up when you can

mixed 5 ltr of gas cause i knew once i got it going i be playin with it all day.sounds like something else i do!anyways i got trouble with top end.bogs down a bit at full throttle, don't know if i should turn hsn or lsn or idle up or down.right now there at fact. settings exactly.what should i do?only trust your guys knowledge, hobby store guys retarted.told him today that tellin new fg buyers to mix 10 mls of oil to 5 ltrs of gas is like saying run your car without brake fluid in your brand new lexus.but man my third member was hard the first time i gunned it.freakin love it,puttin my money in this ride now not my crappy eclipse.you guys give the only advice i trust.how do i get rid of the boggin down?and do they make poly sides to keep crap out, must have grabbed a pound of snow inside.made some plastic sides for now.
