FINALLY..i just finished the truck. Just have some minor cosmetic touches including the roll bar in the back & will eventually put on the DDM top end pipe.

I also included pix of the Baja side by side to the FG.. What a difference!!!!! :celebrate::celebrate::celebrate:

thats one awesome looking truck, top job.

is that a FG tuned pipe on there?

let me know how it runs with single shocks per wheel. I tried that with the stock shockies on the rear but didnt have the affect I wanted.

Thanks guys!

I have a question....Where do I get shock covers for the monster truck?
I know that DDM sells the stock covers for the sportslines MT (with the 8 shocks) but those shocks are Smaller than the competition MT shocks..

Also, I trited to put my Baja Shockwears covers but they are too long..

Anyone know where to get shock covers that will be a perfect fit?

I still say 'ASK PABLO'.
Best shock sox around - best protection as well. Don't rip. Waterproof!!
Best bit is the price, but he can tell you that!!
Alright, he uses old pushbike inner tube and it works perfectly, just get the right size, then locate with cable ties top and bottom.

If you know a seamstress you can make them for real cheap. Just loop the top and the bottom and sew it to the size you need. You can then loop a small wire tie in the top and bottom to secure. Or you can just buy some elastic and make them the size you need.

The one thing I notice in the photos is that the exhaust sticks out the side of the wheel well. If that was my 2wd the tire would hit when fully bashing. Is the pipe made on the comp to fit that way or can it be turned down.

@BTB,

The pipe on the Comp MT5 is made that way to stick out and when I was installing my Roll bar today, I noticed that point which you just mentioned.

I tried turning it but thats as far as it will go. I also noticed that the top of the pipe which sits under the MT5 body touches the body. Considering that the pipe gets pretty hot, I am assuming that it will melt/damage the body if any part of the pipe will be touching the cover.

QUESTION: From your or any1 elses experience, does the DDM pipe offer a better "fit" than the FG comp pipe which comes with the truck??

UPDATE: Intalled the Roll Bar today!!! Check out the pix below!

Thinking of ordering the FG lights from hobbytek.. Does any1 have those lights? Are they bright? Are they brighter than Baja 5B lights?

those are FG Competition shocks. When you have a 4WD kit, you can fit only 4 shocks.. The 2WD models have more room so they are able to have 8 shocks.

cool, didnt know that, thanks for the info.

cant wait to see what it runs like. I thought about upgrading mine to 4WD but the kits are crazy expensive.

thanks,

Yeah the 4WD kit is pricey because you basically get alot of parts which you need to change including the chasis, front and rear shock tower, front diff, belt, and new shocks.
