My youngest is 4yrs old & is mad on rc cars since I got the FG. He wants 1 for Christmas so was thinking of getting him a lunchbox as he likes the monster truck style cars. Other reasons being its from a decent manufacturer, cheap (about £70 with esc), simple mechanics & parts are available if it does go wrong. What do you think? Any alternatives?

I think its a great idea. The only thing I found with electric is my son when smaller hated the run time and lost interest quickly when changing batteries. I ended up buying another petrol and using the controller to control the speed. That way I could justify buying another one.

i had one a while back as a project but sold it to speed up my marder build but im gutted now should have kept it now my little girl whos 5 is on my case daily looking on ebay shes got the rc bug badly ive got to get me i mean her one soon

i got my boy a truggy from jaycar, he doesn't have the best hand-eye co-ordination so I didnt want to get anything quick. He got bored of it in a couple of days coz it was too slow (a little faster than walking pace).

took it to rossco's and fitted a new motor, fair bit quicker now and every day he gets home from school he wants to take it out to the track, loves jumping it. im acutally surprised how well he can control it now after about only an hours time behind the wheel.
