Rear disc brake upgrade

I have the plastic motor side plate with the metal part bolted on. and an extra motor side plate. the stock one has the extra part the brake cam rod goes into

Not sure what you're saying here,I'm not familiar ewith those parts:oops:Can ya post a pic of those parts?
 
On the stock original brake disc you see here where the brake cam (part the brake cable/wire hooks to) trying to find an old pic...

I must be blind cause I don't see that part in this pic:confused::blush:

Either way I'm going to run the stock brake set up with the front disc cable brakes,that should be plenty of braking then:confused:

I'm told that you don't even need the rear set up with properly working front discs....

Buy the 7497 and the 7474 gear plate. Run with front brakes and you will be set. Braking with just fronts is not the best controlled stop.
Here is a photo of the set up. This has the upgraded brake disk and pads too. Can lock the rear end now. Still slides sideways due to the diff rotation. The other option is to use rear disk brakes and eliminate the rear stock all together.
