i have just got one and want to know more about it

where can i get alloy parts just for the back end and engine mounts

and steel gears

and how good is the fg big power pipe compared to the box under the engine

and how good is the fg solo engine:)

i did finish my xrc car bit the hole thing broke and i striped all the gears so it is not scraped and the engine has bean creped for a spear

They're the biggest 2.

There are several smaller suppliers in UK.

Keep an eye on Ebay, but BUY WISELY - if you have a doubt, ASK QUESTIONS!!

FG Alloy is superb quality and can 'pass through generations' sometimes, but some parts wear as well.
AVOID any cast alloy parts - not strong.

the only alloy bits i am interested in are the in the back end the bits that hold the diff and the lay shaft and the clutch and the engine

and all steel gears if possible

should get the car on sat


the only reason i want alloy parts is the xrc2 i had the plastic that held the lay shaft was so flexible all the gears striped and i could not make it work right and the clutch bell was loose in the bearings

is the fg similar or is it a lot better

tons better, you will feel and see the difference as soon as you pull the trigger!, congrats on the new car and have a blast.:D
 
thanks pitstop looks like it has most things i need to make the car :):)

looking at

ball drive shafts and boots

all steel gears and gear carriers

alloy rear chassis

all proper rose joints

and a custom roll cage to stiffen the chassis a bit

it will take a while to do it probably bit by bi as the other bits brake


the engine will be the last thing as it is the most expensive
