Hey all....

For those interested, we are starting to get some interest in running 1/5th scale cars at Joliet, IL on their on-road track.

A number of people have car's and getting them ready, others are awaiting cars to be delivered.
All in all, things look very promising for us all getting together at the track soon, maybe early spring??

Once I know more I will post details.

Thanks.

Regards

Sounds great! Keep us posted and send some pics!
Let me know if you need body shells I make custom bmw amls ones ,I'm willing to send few to sponsor you :-)

Hi All .....

To those interested, please come on here, or the forum of your choice and post. Just so I can give Scotty, at the track, an idea of how many to expect on the day. But there's no rush. All In good time.

Once people have their car's ready. (I must admit mine still needs a little work ....lol) .... and the weather looks more reliably warm enough, we will arrange a days activity.

What I was thinking was a more informal gathering first time out. Getting to know each other, the track/ facility (to my knowledge, it will be the first time 1/5th scale gas will have been to Joliet) ie: The track layout, and more importantly, set up the next date and what people would like to get from going.

We could have set-up days, testing with timing, race days etc.
We can discuss when we are all there. For me at least first time out, food is always a high priority ... lol. But thats me.

What do you think?

I figured with the interest now being seen and the news I had yesterday.
It was time to share ........

To all those interested, we do now have our first 1/5th scale on-road event provisional y booked at the track!

The day is Saturday 11th July From 8.00am till 3.00pm

It is looking as though the day will cost around $12 each. The timing equipment will be available and we are able to pit around the track if you desire.

If you would, please post here or send me a pm if you are interested and can see yourself attending.

This is a great opportunity for us to run our 1/5th scale car's at a very nice facility.
A big thank you goes to Alex for making the necessary arrangements and to Scotty and all those at LeisureHours Raceway!!

Let's see if we can at last get some 1/5th scale on-road action going here in the MidWest...... and where better to start then http://leisurehoursraceway.com/

Hope to see you there.

Good to see you posted here, Anthony. I already have interest from folks who would travel 3-1/2 hours away. Should be a good turn out!

How much are the bodies? Same/similar to the FG version--body mount holes, etc?

Yeah, the number of local guys is 10+ so far. What the heck have we done!?!? Gotta get a flyer made up and legitimize this thing!

Hi all ......

In keeping everyone updated, I am pleased to say that we have over 20 people who have stated an interest in attending our first meet at Leisurehours Raceway!

This is great! I am sure its going to be "brilliant."

Well, I can't risk my marriage over buying another car...even though I'm pricing them, or tentatively pricing them now. I do live somewhat close to you guys and happen to have a set of Hostile slicks for my Losi now, so I would absolutely be interested in running up there with you guys. I will have to figure out a good set up for the 5ive for running on road and negating the current "jump and run" set up I've gone for now. Not sure how well I would be able to keep up with you guys with my 20/58 gearing, but still sounds like a lot of fun.

Sure does doesn't it!

I think there will be a few in your position as far as gearing, so you wont be alone there.
The main aim of the event is to have some fun with these car's. Having the opportunity to run them on a world class track.
To spark an interest locally in 1/5th scale on track events. You will be more then welcome to attend.

Incidentally. I was just looking at a few RTR 1/5th scale cars this morning. I never knew you could get them at these kind of prices.

I just placed a huge order with that website. With the Euro being as weak as it is, I couldn't resist. Those FG clones look pretty sweet for the money.

Well, I'm off to the Dirt Nitro Challenge in Phoenix! Wish me luck!

Those are quite good deals, even for Smartech cars.
I need to place an rder with them here soon too, Not for an on-road car, even though I want one.

Good luck Alex, Get some sun for us that can't go. ;)

Hey all,

All quiet as we wait for time to pass.
Look out for the flyer for this event coming out soon.

Behind the scenes arrangements still ongoing...... stay tunes.
