I just picked up a Hot Bodies Lightning Street, well it's been shipped to me anyway from about a 4 hr drive from here, so should be here soon. Not much info about these things anywhere. Even on the Hot Bodies site!!. I had to do a search through google to even find it at Hot Bodies, so I guess I better stock up on parts while I can. It's a nitro with a rotostart and quite a big car really. 2 speed tranny. lots of chassis room. looks like I have lots of purple anodizing to strip... I hate purple.

if you know where I can get parts or know any info about these, post it up.

haha. the guy I got it from was on tank 2 of that review. it's a brand new car basically.

I wrote Hot Bodies about the car and the rep told me it will be hard to find parts. He said no bodies are made anymore and nothing else fits (voo2doo has that Mitz, so am grabbing it, and let him know Protech makes one, as the rep has 3 of these on his shelf). Most of the buggy parts will fit but the 2 speed is non existant now... I will have to toss a dif in when the 2 speed goes, or jimmy rig an ofna 2 speed in or something

thanks though, your search on tower was better than mine. I am saving that page. I have to place another order soon so will add some of those goodies before they go out of stock permanently...

thats only problem with discontinued kits is parts, threadlock engine mount bolts an keep eye on gear mesh an should be good. Run on clean surfaces!

ya you bet, I take the leaf blower to the lot we run on.

my car is sitting in Greyhound. I was going to grab it today but I worked graveyard and went straight to a painting job that took me 8 hrs today. Too late so now it sits until Monday. I am so tired right now. 3 hrs sleep and back to work again. Hope I can stay awake tonight LOL. Good news is I made enough this weekend in side work to pay for my 1/5 and 1/7 bodies :D. Time to do some painting soon

I got it fired up today. Put a new rx battery, dsm rx and loktited the many screws. It was missing 2 setscrews holding the wheel hex pins in. a couple fg ones and good to go.

Idled it a bit and it stalled. glow igniter battery dead, so was my replacement. grrr putting dead batteries in the kitchen cupboard ..

I ripped apart a couple old nmh cels I had. 4200's. they were nearly totally drained. about 1/10 of a volt in one. surprisingly they took a charge and I got it fired again. I put some Byron's 30% in so gave it a quick break in since I imagine they ran 20% for the tank and a half. after a little slow running and then some tuning, I opened it up a bit. Got it shifting out front of my house and I have to say this thing is planted and very fast.

and looks like the similar ones are coming out of the woodwork now so we should have a good turnout next time we run
