... Has anyone else heard about this? Thinking about getting it when it's released. What's everyone's thoughts??? Speed??? Reliability???

Thumbs up or thumbs down??

There have been threads on this before, it's supposed to have decent power (similar to a big block nitro) but without the hassle of tuning (supposedly). Sounds like it could work!

the only benifits i see are less tuning(to weather conditions), longer run times, one less thing to carry(glow starter) and possably a little more torqe over nitros.

but i cannot see it being faster then nitros, it just cant be, its not possable, some1 show me a petrol powered engine thats faster then methenol/nitro engines on any scale :p

but ill eat my words if im wrong, and i do hope im wrong as it would be a really nice edition to my savage collection.

i don't think they will be any more reliable then nitros, the only troubles i have with nitro engines are the FREEGIN PULLSTARTS! and oneway bearings, and besides you have the added trouble of spark timing with petrol.

regardless of what i say, im buying one as soon as there released :)

I think it will be pretty cool. Not everybody wants to go or has the room to go 50+ plus mph all the time. It does get old after a while. If this new motor is fairly easy to tune even better. One of the big things that sold me on my Rampage was that it wan't as finicky as my Revo was. Especially, after long periods of time. If it is easier and cheaper to maintain my Revo may be getting a transplant. :D IF it lives up to what I've been hearing about it. Also It may bring more people into the hobby that didn't like nitro, or heard about this engine. Thus expanding the hobby. :)

Forget the 1/8 engine. Somebody needs to build a 5th scale motor which is based off a scaled up 1/8 motor so we can get off of these bulky decendents of a weedwacker motor. Here's a 26cc gas engine for example, however, it's got an electronic ignition.

Stick an ignition coil on it and a pullstart and it'd be perfect for an "inline" engine setup like the Losi.
