I am converting a Redcat 8E Aftershock into a 1/8th brushless touring car. This is a very simple conversion and its a dual lipo brushless 1/8th scale! I used Mugen 17mm black 5 spoke wheels with GRP tires, Protoform PF8-GT body. Used M4x10 grub screws to set the suspension down and that about it. Will post some pics in a bit just finishing up the shell - this should be one heck of a touring car (and fast).

Here are some pics of the beginning

Here are some with the body painted - this chassis has all the redcat aluminum upgrades.

ahhh you make me sick!LOL You sure can paint! Man that turned out nice. I am wondering if I should build a rally or one of these. Castle Creations ecs and what you have done seems like a inexpensive way to hit the street.

You said you used grub screws to lower the car? How?
There are predrilled holes in the a-arms already just like any 1/8th scale buggy. They are in the center of each pic.susp 1.webp

I ran this setup in my backdraft and the thing handles like a slot car. I love this chassis setup, redcat did very well on it. Very fun to drive and can beat it for the price plus they jump great, very well balanced and easy to control when jumping.

I know that car should fly. I have researched all my ammunition to build my rocket. I really like the way the body fits and the wheels too. Zielkeracing's build has made up my mind. Now it's off to work to make some funds to fund my project. BTW this thing should make drifting a snap!

I am getting another 8E chassis and the next build will be a monster truck/truggy - this chassis is so versatile. Redcat did great with this one.

Zeil I cant wait to see that project.

Did you come up with a paint scheme yet for the other body?

Keep up the good work
