Was asking about increasing performance of my FG Monster. Chap in model shop told me that his FG Touring car does over 100MPH and that my monster could do 100MPH also with the right engine and gearing. Is this really true????

He also told me that my 29cc engine will not rev anywhere near as much as say a 23cc engine, and that i would be better off with a tuned 23 or 26cc. Is this true?

He said about £600 for a highly tuned engine, including lightened piston, flywheel etc. He races i know, but i don't i am just a basher, wonderin if he is tryin to bullshit me.

Whats ya thought. 75MPH would do. Just more than it does now. Guessin about 40-45mph with standard gearing.

What ya think?????? SHould i just change gearing, i have plenty of torque i think, with DDM mid high pipe

some of it sounds bull but im with him on the 23cc reving higher as ive got a 23cc oddified 4 bolt @6hp and it loves to rev and rev and rev as for speed with 2 speed box maybe 70/80mph but i don't know im happy with a sigle gear setup and its quick enough for bashing

Name and shame, if he races at national level, i'd know him.

Top line racers were doing 65mph at Lostallo which has one of the longest straights in RC. An FG with the right gearing, tyres, diff, clutch, pipe and driver coulddo 100mph but it would be usless for racing if it's just got a top end motor.

fair play but i do enough damage with it doing about 45/50mph could you imagine the damage at 100 no thanks and like you say its geared low so not going to have any low down grunt,, and would you realy want a monster truck that goes 100mph there like driving a rugby ball anyway

It certainly looked fast enough, but there's no guarantee of the speed calibration.
I'm happy with mine doing around 40mph.

Imagine if it glitched slightly at that speed and took out the 'radar operator' or better still totalled itself against a lamp-post ? :w00t::w00t::w00t:
