1st Time Lexan Painter MT V3

So my first time painting a Lexan body. My first RC.


Went with Pactra Metallic Blue, Indy Silver, and Window Tint. Used some vinyl paint masks for the flames and left the bed clear so you can see some of the insides.


Not bad for my first.

You paint the inside....this keeps any scratches etc from damaging the paint

aahh ok after you paint the inside how do you get that white coating to protect the paint?

I stuck the vinyl paint masks (flames) on first. Painted about five light coats of the blue. I had the windows and bed taped off so no paint would get on them. Then I painted over the blue with a white paint to give a nice backing to the Metallic Blue. The blue was see through even after five coats.

I then peeled off the flames and did four coats of silver then backed it with white. Then removed tape from the windows and put on the window tint. Removed the tape from the bed and voila.

Later I put drywall tape over the bottom and re-taped the windows and bed. Put on three coats of flex seal to stiffen the body. All done!
