Hey, quick question,
I have a 2.4ghz set up, i think my Receiver has had it, I no longer have throttle control, brakes only. Stering is going to full left at the slightist touch of the control, yet right has normal control.

I've re paired them and still the same. Ive changed the receiver and handset for a normal 40Mhz and everything works ok, so i know the servos etc are all good.

Can i just pick up another 2.4Ghz receiver and pair it with my 2.4Ghz handset, or does it have to be the same brand / Manufacture etc ?

Any other thoughts ?

Cheers.

What brand do you have? some are cross useable, some aren't Futaba are on their own as are Airtronics. Spektrum and Losi are the same, as long as it's air to air or ground to ground

+1 Pipeous..

How old is the unit? did you check for cracks or moisture getting in it? It could be a defective unit as well.

What steering servo is it? it is is a 5745 or rhino and it is going extreme left or right at power, your servo is probably fried.

The receiver and controller are a Ansman

The servo is fine as i put another receiver on it, i had complete movement control. No obvious cracks or water ingress, its fairly well wrapped up in a plastic bag inside the receiver box.

My question is, could i bond the handset to other 2.4Ghz receivers, other than what was said before ?

cheers

I'm gonna take a guess and say probably not.. To tell you the truth, i never even heard of Ansman.
Could you just get another Ansman receiver.

Chris

Jackobyte has an Annsman and in my opinion they are pretty good! You have probably destroyed the reciever due to the vibration these things knock out.Buy another, they are about £35 ans wrap it in bubble wrap before you put it in the radio box, this will reduce vibration.

Good to hear you found a replacement.
Pardon my lack of knowledge, i'm sure they make good products, I just always used Airtronics or Spektrum. ;)

I've got the Ansmann W3 2.4 as Voo2doo says, i've had no probs with it so far and think its a good lower end of the market hand set.:cool2:
I made sure my receiver was well packed in the receiver box by using foam so it does'nt bang around inside, as i heard they,re prone to vibration.

Thanks James,
I'll check it out. I might be in the market soon for a new TX since mine looks like it's had its day.

Hey guys.

Receiver ordered and should be here by the weekend, it was in stock so fingers crossed.
I used to have a Spektrum last year but sold it with my T-maxx as it had all the telematry on it, picked up this W3 for £65. been very good uptill the receiver went funny. good idea for the foam/bubble, mine was just tucked in the reciver box, so i guess is was bouncing around in there :-(

I threw my old T-maxx receiver and fired up the old TQ3 controller so i could get out for some fun today. my MT has been sitting around for 8 weeks or so completely stripped down with various problems from broken spark plug lead to leaking gaskets, too a fried servo..

Was great to get back out there for the afternoon... took it easy for the first half hour, to see if it was all ok, then hit the gravel and grass for 2 hours straight... i didnt break a thing :celebrate:

I fitted some front disk brakes which i'm more than happy with and the new MG995 servo has plenty of power (9kg)
Ive fitted a second MG995 just for the front brakes, all good, i can get the front wheels to lock up under very heavy breaking ! -

One question;
where is the best place to mound the reciver box now ?
pics would be helpful !

Thought I'd put a short video up :-)
Its one handed so appologies.... lol
