2 Bolt Engines

I feel like this is a dumb question, but why do they make two bolt engines? Is there a downside to 4 bolt ones that I don't know about or something?

good question . this would also interest me. when i had 2 screw fuelie k23. so it happened to me that the seal leaked oil . and also one screw broke once. so these are definitely disadvantages. I don't know what are the other disadvantages of 2 screw motors
so. 2 screw motors cannot be better than 4 screw motors. 2 screw motors are older and there is no point in solving them , if you have a choice, then 4 screws

2 bolt engines are cheaper and the base gaskets blow out and leak. This is why they came out with the 4 bolt design. 4 bolt engines are much more reliable than 2 bolt.

In my experience 2 bolt really don't like top end kits lol

They are made for lower power outputs, most of the blocks should be able to be converted to a 4 bolt.
