Other than the one way bearing, the 2 speed is a really simple device. If it's functioning incorrectly it's easy to adjust and/or take apart to clean or replace.

One way bearing problems, that's something else. The bearing itself will need to be replaced, but other than the $35 the bearing costs, that's a really easy thing to do as well. I've been meaning to pick up an extra bearing just in case mine starts acting up.

LOL that you would say that what is it that makes that bearing cost so much?

Yes I had planed on emailing him directly because he gave me a super good deal on 2 cars then I would have gotten on ebay from him.

don't know, might work still i'll wait after they receive the wrongs and see if they can send me one to check out

still prolly best buy is Dan cuz its made for the 2 speed and says upgraded, so maybe a better bearing than whats in mine stock, and he will do multiple buy discounts if contacted.

well thats one thing i don't agree on,that bearing dan's selling look's likes the basic bearing in the 2 speed now,so unless there's another part no# for a upgraded version which there should be,for me he's selling the basic bearing but placed the words upgraded on it to make it sound more tempting, thats the thing with bearings they may start with the same no#'s but they end with different prefix's like "SS" for steel shield,"S" or "R" for sealed , and this case the "PP" for key ways

Well the one-way bearing in my T1000 failed today. It's been flawless up until now. Today it didn't even make it 10 feet. It would take off then just free rev. I had to roll it by hand forward and backward and then it would engage, but only go another 10 or 15 feet (that's 3-4.5 meters for you over the pond blokes).

I'm not sure what I'm going to do at this point. I like the 2 speed, but if I'm replacing the OWB every gallon or so, it's not going to be fun anymore. I'm leaning toward converting it to single speed just because I'm more interested in reliable than speed.

Anyone have a parts list I'd need to convert to single speed?

pretty strate forward, new layshaft, gear, bushings gear bushing retainer, new bell and gear. so far my owb hasnt failed yet, but i do need to get a extra in case.

Well my plan is to order another bearing, and also start acquiring parts to convert to single speed. If the bearing fails again, I'll have all the parts by then to convert. I'll give the 2 speed another chance. It really is cool.

i had made myself that list once too, just to see the cost of goin single from 2 speed. wasnt cheap, but, if ya do, then the TR clutch setup will work, theyre designed for single. the layshaft was a pricey lil sucker if you wanted that titanium one. if i was to go single, i would get that shaft, myself. anyways, haven't really looked up prices for all those parts recently, so not sure what costs are gonna run ya. i think i was able to get most of them thru Dan, and a couple off other vendors. the bell, i had looked at was a vertigo vented bell. your gears , you can go with bout 2 to 3 diff ratios, depends on what ya want it to do, low end, mid, or higher end.

i conveted mine over fast, i already have a shaft that came with my integy diff assembly, the gears, and the rubber bumbers,is the only thing i bought, since i had already bought the holder and bell by accident,
i think the who thing was under $100, gonna post the 2 speed on ebay and get rid of it,
but i did buy several gear and pinion combos to try out so thats where the majority of my spending went
