Took my 2.0 w/ newly installed 2 speed out yesterday and the only problem I had was the screw and aluminum washer on the pinion gears kept backing out. I took some blue lock tight and got it back together and ran it hard for about tank and half. Brought the car to work with me for some lunch time bashing today and had it out for about 3 minuntes before the rear tires locked up. What happed was the outer most pinion gear caught the spur gear clossest to the cover plate and broke a tooth on my pinion gear. my question is now my outer clutch thingie(im still kinda new) feels like its rubbing. here is my video [ame]http://youtu.be/_d2ZpUpYl90[/ame]. Should it sound or feel like this???? did i do something wrong?!?!? it ran fine yesterday, but I did notice that the gears did seem to be awful close but didnt think it would catch

What you have there i think is what happened to me with my new baja, sounds like one or both screws on the clutch part "the aluminum shoes that you can see inside 2nd gear" have backed out rubbing on the bell...
They are spring tensioned but it is not enough to hold them in place.

tryin to disassemble this thing but cannot figure out a way to get this back spur gear off without completely taking the car apart again,,,any advise??

That takes a little careful prying with two screw drivers or what ever you might have available, working them back and forth opposite each other behind the gear and not scratching or damaging other parts, it takes time but it will come off.
Why are you removing it?

tryin to remove the gears to figure out why their not meshing at what I would consider goodIMG_0580.webp

why will it not let me upload the rest of my photos, it keeps saying upload of file failed when i insert image

hope these show up

First, to let you know i am going by the way my gears look and was shipped to me as an upgrade already installed on my buggy, I have had a couple issues but they were easily fixed...
The two gears on the engine clutch bell shaft are way to close together "the smaller toothed one may be backwards" it has a different space tolerance on one side, the larger one does not matter it is the same either way. Hope you get fixed soon.
As for help with the gear mesh give me a shout when you get your new gear.

the ping sound in the video is more likely the alloy shoes being hit by the spur gear, not a big deal as long as it's not locked up,they are so close that you will get some rubbing from them , also could be the bearing resonating thru the spur gear.
as for spacing check that you placed both pinions in the right directions on the clutchbell, one or both may be backwards, another thing to look at make sure that main spur gear is placed correctly on the layshaft it could also be mis-aligned.
