can i ask what is the advantage of the 29cc zenoah VS a zenoah 26cc.call me behind the times but the old 26 had always provided sufficient power for my needs, is it folklore that the 29 don't rev as high as the 26cc?
i gather the 29cc is supposed to have more torque then the 26cc,to tell you the truth i can never apply full power to the ground even with my 26cc least low down anyway with a 2wd

i often wanted to get a zenoah 29cc and fit it but i wonder will i see any gains, ohh yeah the car i'm running is an FG leopard race 2

It is like any engine bigger displacement. Many with proper porting are getting even with the 30.5 to rev as high or all most as high as smaller engines. Another good thing about the G290 is you can install a +1 crank with out having to machine the cylinder or stack gaskets which will make it from 28.5cc to 29.5cc. But always check the squish. Right now I am running a CY GP290, 28.5 cc race ported and it turns as many or more RPM as my 26, 25.4 cc engine. I guess it all boils down to personal preference. I will not be content until I try just about ever displacement engines LOL. Not talking about engines like OBR twin but your normal engine. I have so far run stock 26, race ported 30.5 and just broke in my race ported 28.5. I am collecting parts to build a race ported G270 Zen and a Pro stock 4 bolt 27.2.

a 26cc with a dominator makes plenty or power..sure tq is cool, but i really don't get the point with all the big displacement engines...

Same reason many want bigger displacement or higher performance engines in their 1 to 1 cars. Same reason you put a dominator on your engine?;)

yeah, i guess...i dunno...i just keep saying a 26cc with pipe makes a ton of power and is more than you need..

depends on what your doing with the engine. 4wd will soak up a lot more power, but it will be able to use the massive torque to get it moving in a hurry. in a 2wd, huge power can be great for sand.

too much power is just enough, but more is always better.

I would have to say depends on what you are doing. I found for some tracks less power is better then too much. On the dirt oval I am running my race ported 30.5 just has too much torque. So next time which will be after first of the year I am going to try my race ported 28.5. I am all so getting up parts to build a Pro Stock 27.2 4 bolt.

of coarse racing is a little different. however its easier to dial power back then trying to get more. when you get on that bigger/higher bite track and you wish you had a little more, its just some tweaking and its there.
