Hello guys,

I am looking to spend some money on a 2nd 5th scale.

what do you suggest?

Losi 5t or Losi DBXL?

ive asked some guys, they told me to get the dbxl since Losi might release a new version of 5t. the new improved Losi 5t (2.0). So i don't want to risk it.. but then again.. that's the legendary Losi 5t!

So, is the DBXL any good? is it durable? any weak points? does it handle well? if anything, i plan to run the Samba pipe (mostly used in Europe and in Competitive racing)

pic not related. I guess this is a 5th scale HARM on Road.

I just picked up the dbxl last Saturday. Only on my fourth tank due to the weather. So far I'm happy. Just made some upgrades.

New air filter with 1in velocity stack.

Raw jetpro pipe

Engine will be next.

I have both and the 5ive is still king. The 5ive has a much larger aftermarket selection at this time. That may change in the future as the DBXL is new to the market. The DBXL is a bit smaller and a good 10lbs lighter than the 5ive. If you want to race I say go with the 5ive. If it is going to be for bashing the DBXL is a nice buggy for the money.

I'm leaning towards the DBXL, do you have any idea what motor to put and what pipe to intall? I saw a lot of youtube videos. might end up with the 40CC

Also, Im thinking of getting Samba pipe. any idea on their performance and power?

If you are going to spend the money on a 40cc, you should contact the engine builder on pipe choices. Pipes are built to engine specs.

For the regular size motors the Sambas have a good reputation for making decent power.

Not sure how fast you want to go, but just ran the Dbxl after pipe and new air filter. This thing really moves out!!!

Ok I see what you mean, no where close to that power. I think I'll step up my motor game up.
