Afternoon all.
30 degrees north 29cc engine, Fuelie based.

Well last week while running my truck it appears that I've sucked in some dirt due to an unclipped air filter housing.
Anyways fast forward to today, new head ordered and received along with a full gasket set, new skimmed piston and new ring.
Rebuilt it last night and just finished putting the engine in the Baja as I swapped the known good engine to the truck. (Joy's of having 2 of the same engine)
Anyways its a ported head and I've put in a skimmed piston, im excited to have a bash as it sounds like an absolute animal when I started it, its got what I can only describe as a crack in sound while idling.

Would a skimmed piston make that much difference??
Sorry for long winded post.

skimmed piston...?...nothing u will notice imo unless ur a hardnered racer who knows his shite ?..no offance?
jus go enjoy it now?
if u put it up to a 30.5cc....witha 2+mm stroker rod in..with said piston then yeah will notice it

No offence taken, I openly admit I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to 2 stroke engines. I know the principle and can build them up, but learning about tuning and general running as I go. Apart from that this forum requires a thick skin lol.
I had the 30.5 KM in the Baja before putting in the 29cc engine, nothing else has changed regarding gearing etc and I'll be honest I prefer this 29cc engine. Read something the other day that stock the 30 degrees 29cc engine produces 3.5bhp, true or not I have no idea but has a lot more go than the 30.5 KM engine.
