Just ran my second tank of gas and by the time it got to 1/4 of gas left in the tank it started to bog out.

Is this normal? Is it the engine temp that needs to cool down?

When can I start to really open it up? -- break in period over?

Should I mess with the set or idle screws?

How long can I run it before letting it cool down?

Just need some expert advice :D

Vent the tank, like RCDAD suggested. You can start letting it loose and tune for performance. Just let the engine warm up before you start beating on it.

You can also vent the tank by adding a hole to the grommet.-

Got a question about this pix you have here. Those bronze fuel line things... is one of them shorter or all they all long to where they touch the bottom of the tank? DDM sells them? Is it a problem if all three of those touch the bottom of the gas tank?

The inlet line fitting is long with a piece of tube and clunk filter still attached in the tank.

The return line fitting is long.

The vent line fitting is cut really short, just enough to stay in the gromet.

The two fitting using the original holes in the gromet have a small piece of fuel line on them to keep them tight in the gromet.

thanks guys, I'll analyze the set up and reconfigure this to add venting. Sounds like its the solution for ensuring the carb does not get starved for fuel.

its a good idea to disconnect the fuel inlet and blow- suck air tru it. my stock felt filter was so restrictive i could hardly move air tru it. behind the felt is a plastic cone with no holes in it. only way for gas to pass is tru the ends of this cone behind the felt. no biggie- just sh%& can the filter and replace with a Du-Bro # 161 slintered bronze filter-clunk.

Filter- vent.

Lots of ways to set up the fuel system. here is my set up. The one way valve- rubber gromet in the gas cap is removed, enlarge the hole in the rubber cone slightly. put a small piece of air filter foam inside the rubber to act as a damper for the gas. The final filter packagages discription is wrong. it does not have a pipe screen filter. It has a slintered bronze filter. The filter nipples could be longer- use little zip-ties. There are also internal screens in the Walbro WT series carbs.- they will need to be cleaned on ocassion.
